I'm a fan of Pallazzo, been staying there three weeks a year for years.

I did however get the chance to stay in one of the Hotel32 Lofts and loved it. They are spacious, affordable and offer many amenities not found in the other hotels listed above.

I am planning a trip to LV in April and considering changing up my hotel routine.  I generally stay at Wynn/Encore, Venetian/Palazzo or the Aria.

Would anyone care to share an opinion regarding:
South Point
Golden Nugget
Platinum
Hotel 32

... must choose from those 4, I would say the Golden Nugget. Their rush tower rooms are nicely designed and decorated.
But I think the hotels you listed (where you used to stay) are better in general than any of these 4.

But of course, nothing makes a room more comfortable than some "in-room entertainment"

I stayed there last February in the newer section.  Had a small suite can't remember what their called.  Nice places to eat, great pool, decent sports book, no security at the elevators, Room was kind of dark for my taste, dark walls, dark rug, etc,  no decent views because it's off strip, but walking out the door and being on Fremont St. is great!  Some parts of the casino are really smoky.  A lot of attractive dealers.  But booked my next trip at City Center, Vdara and Aria.

Its the new tower and its very nice.

The Golden Nugget has had a huge make over and they are looking great.I love to visit some of the great restaurants they have to offer.

They do check room keys. It was after midnight when I rolled in and they were checking them. I am not sure what time they set up the security check point though

With that said here is one providers point of view. - These are things I look at in a hotel.
It may not be what you are looking for in a Hotel.
Since YOU are the one who will be there most of the time , in the end I prefer you chose a hotel that is best for you and your needs.

First I would like to say - To me it doesn't matter where you ( the hobbyist ) stays at.
For me it is about the company I keep , not which hotel you are at.
And while having a "nicer room" ( especially on an extended date ) maybe adds a bit to the romantic mood .....
It isn't a deal breaker , and isn't the most important thing.

If you think saying to me something like - "I have a beautiful expensive upgraded suite at XYZ "  impresses me ........ well sorry it doesn't.
I am way more impressed by YOU as a person , your personality and how you treat a lady.

Any Hotel is a great choice, as long as it is a clean room.
Since all ( or most) Las Vegas hotels do keep an acceptable standard.
I have no problem going to any of the Las Vegas hotels.

NOW , If asked which hotels I prefer ........
Then my choices are usually hotels that have easier access to.
Especially if the hobbyist needs discretion.
Even though I have my ways of being VERY discreet even at "room key required" hotels

Let me again reassure , that doesn't mean I have a problem going to any other hotel.
So please do not read this post the wrong way
In the end it is about YOU and ME , not the room.
BUT if you want MY opinion on certain hotels , It is just MY opinion from MY point of view.

I don't talk about restaurants in each hotel , because that doesn't matter.
If I have a dinner date,my date and I chose the restaurant based on cuisine and atmosphere that we are in the mood for.
not because the restaurant has to be at the same hotel one is staying at.
And before anyones thinks - Oh that takes more time .......... Yes , time that I give extra on MY dime.


South Point - While I have been there many times and had wonderful fun sexy times.
Not my favorite place.
Drive time from my location can be an hour or even a bit more.
What can I say, we are spoiled in Vegas.
If I have to drive more then 30 minutes it feels like a long drive. LOL LOL LOL
Rooms , nothing to brag about . Similar to Station Casinos.
One plus point about South Point - no security checking room keys ......... well at least when I was there never saw any security.


Golden Nugget- While they remodeled rooms , Yada Yada .
Yes rooms look great , Yada Yada ( if you like that type of decor )
and many guys like to gamble down town so I get it ......
BUT I will admit , not my favorite hotel .
First off driving downtown is a bit of a hassle, compared  to driving to The Strip.
No matter how much they remodel the rooms,  it is still an older hotel.
Since I am a non smoker , I can smell the smoke before I even hit the Casino door .
No worries rooms do not smell. but hot water takes forever , if it ever comes LOL LOL
Parking garage YUCK ! So dirty and smelly ( geez with all the money they collect for parking can't they clean it up once and awhile ) and parking always seems to be full.
Have to park on roof .Now waiting for the elevator to take you down to Casino floor ......
geez, I could have walked from my home to the Casino faster then the elevator moves LOL LOL LOL
To those who want to say - Well why don't you Valet ?? Well I just don't.
I have my reasons and we will leave it at that.

 
Platinum - This is a hotel/condo.
Plus points for easy drive to this hotel
Plus points for not having to walk through a casino to get to a room.
Plus points for no security by elevator.
Minus points for NO self Parking , meaning I have to Valet.
Minus points for Valet taking FOREVER even though you are the ONLY person at Valet.
Minus points for the place being so quite , You can hear a pin drop.
Everyone coming and going is so noticed.
I almost feel like I am walking naked and every hotel staff is watching me , even though from Valet to elevator is about 6 steps.
Room - I guess if you are looking to have a kitchen , then it is a plus point.
If you like to have a living room with a bedroom that doesn't cost an arm and a leg .......... then this may be the place for you.
Other then that , rooms nothing to brag about.


Hotel 32 ......... Now that is what one can call LUXURY !!!!!!!!!!
Even though it is at the Monte Carlo.
I also love the Monte Carlo........ Even though MC rooms are not much to brag about.
But with - Easy access to hotel , easy self parking , no security by elevators ..... AHHHHHH what more can a hooker ask for LOL LOL LOL

How did you get from South Point / Golden Nugget/ Platinum to Hotel 32 ??

So that was the hooker break down on hotels.
Either way for me it is about the company I keep *wink wink*

It is all about the person not the room as long as it is clean and not in a bad area I have no problem.
My opinion on the South Point the rooms are okay nothing to write home about.There is security there in the evenings at least that has been my experience maybe it was because there was an event being held there.

Golden Nugget I like the new Rush Tower very nice rooms the decor I agree is dark and the hallways are not well lit in this tower.The two older towers  rooms are okay nothing special unless you book a suite in the top floors of what used to be called the North Tower.The Platinum Hotel I really like this hotel the rooms are suites you cannot hear noise next door the only drawback is that you can only valet and not a very big lobby.
Hotel 32 have never been to those rooms but others have provided their opinions regarding this hotel.
I like all of the hotels that you listed that you have already been to any of these places you cannot go wrong!

I've used the info provided to pinpoint your location to somewhere near Logandale.  Half the people I meet think I live in Utah, and I can get to the South Point in under an hour.

You do realize that I've taken over as the person assigned to mess with you now that Smarty is gone, right?

I've  found the Monte Carlo to be just right!  Great location and it's sized right.  Parking is convenient.  I don't have to walk a mile to get to my room.  I like having the casino floor in close proximity and they pay 3-2 for blackjack!  But, I'll be honest, the biggest plus is value!  Sure it's not the Palazzo, Bellagio or Wynn, but I'm not paying those, IMO, exorbitant rates.  As long as the rooms are clean, I'm fine.  Ok, they totally f'd up room service one night, but two breakfast dates went well.  This is my "hobby" and I'm luvin' it, but I can only afford to enjoy it by being just a bit frugal.  And I've yet to have a lady refuse to see me at the MC.....well, maybe the hottie who didn't get her bourban and diet coke!  *oops*

Oh, and having a CVS conveniently next door ain't a bad thing neither!

but if you were talking to me , well I did say that I LOVE the MC. ( Monte Carlo )

and all the other ladies agreed - It is about the company we keep !

When you drive on a road with 5 and half cars ( Utah roads LOL LOL   it probably is faster.
When you have so much traffic , some big event going on and on top of that road construction ...
leaving 2 lanes instead of 4....... and idiots that don't understand if it's a 45 mile zone ........You can drive 45 not less ............

Even days of taking less then 30 minutes to get to a strip hotel are almost gone. ;-( ;-(

Not complaining , just pointing out why South Point isn't on top of my favorite list.

BTW to those who wonder -  during the day South Point has no security.
Maybe they put a guard there around 11:00 pm - midnight or if some major event.
But I never encountered a security guard. Lucky me

I do think it can really add to the whole experience if you have a nice room with a great view. To me this is about more than just great sex (Thank you Cindy!). It is so much better when there is a romantic mood and a nice room or suite at one of the upscale hotels can definitely help by providing all of the amenities, such as a great view, a jacuzzi, lighting, maybe a private balcony, etc. Maybe I am just an old-fashioned romantic, but I like to treat my providers the same way that I would treat any gorgeous sexy woman that I was lucky enough to spend an evening with.

I was considering changing to one of the hotels listed for the following reasons:

Golden Nugget - My favorite restaurant in LV is located in the hotel, which would be convenient, but thus far I have been unable to get past the ambience of downtown.

South Point - I notice they have an online poker offering that in combination with a live game at the Casino could result in an entry to the WSOP.  I have also heard wonderful things about Michael's.  The location is not my ideal.

Platinum - Like the concept of having a kitchen, but concerned over location and traffic (or lack thereof) at the property.  From the comments above, I think staff has a little too much time to take notice.  I prefer to be in a crowd.

Hotel 32 - It sounds wonderful.  I do like the MC location and one can buy good meals there without paying as much as Aria.  I had a burger and fries at the Aria sports book.  It was $25 and terrible.  The next day I walked across the street to Fatburger, much better dining experience at 1/2 of the cost... but I digress.  My concern over Hotel 32 versus other properties is the boutique nature of it.  I don't care for the atteniton.

They come with a full kitchen, a living room and many have a jaquezzi (sorry no time to use a spell checker). There is one next to the South Point called the Grandview. I'm staying there first week in April. If you're there lets grab a drink.

The south point casino is spacious and the sports book is really cool, it's like a theater with little arm rest table on every seat, huge screen and no minimum fee (when I went to the Pallazzo they wanted a $100). The craps table are hard, felt on slate, so its a challenge to hit the  back wall with a light toss, and the dealers give the rhythm shooters allot of heat.  But with the minimal bounce you can shoot from the back rail which I found fun.  And even though I bitch about the tables I've always won money there.  

Table minimums are great ! $1 roulette and black jack (in 2010) and lots of $5 craps table.  It's the nicests (no spell checker) casino with the lowest minimums.  But the roulette tables don't have the tracking signs.

But the timeshares are really nice in Vegas.  If you buy one, don't take the deal until you are almost walking out and they bring out the "supervisor" with the absolute last offer. They start at $30,000, but if you hold out they drop it down to $7,000.

I am not going to be there the first week in April, but thanks for the offer.

I have thought about a LV timeshare, but I am fairly addicted to the having the room in the building I am playing at.  The traffic on the strip is such these days that getting between casinos is a hassle.

Are way congested..
Im not sure if Chanel Pearl lives here fulltime but truly golden nugget is not an  ideal  location.   Due to being near a courthouse and if the appointment is any way associated with the hours of the justice System..
Well.. personally that venue  may not be as advantageous/desired as it appears

Just did the Mapquest from my door to the SP and it came in at 32 minutes.  So, if your 2x factor applies, you're 2 minutes from me.  Then again, I'm the guy that heard about driving your own car out at the race track and decided it was a scam because they limit your speed to 75mph.  Yawn.  Not only do I exceed that speed almost every day, but I've been on that track at speeds close to double that.  Granted it was a real race car, but my little buggy has some giddy-up.  So, Miss Spice, it appears that there are other factors involved.  I promise not to go all stalker on you but I'm going to keep being mathy until I can work this out.

Totally agree, that's where I stayed last time I was Vegas. I got the Jacuzzi suite for three nights at 110 a night! Awesome view of the south strip. Nothing fancy, but perfect for my tastes. Very close to other casinos, Bellagio is right there if you want to dine a bit fancier or roll a bit higher. No security so having ladies come right up was not a problem. Right off the strip in a central location. It perfectly suited this Midwestern, middle-class gentleman and I plan on staying there again at some point.

Yes, I am at a timeshare, that I probably paid too much for...but I own three weeks now so I will be back next year..Have to spread the love. Hope to see you all this week! Kalina
