Coming to Vegas in first week in May.  I'm told Vegas is 100% open starting June...so my question is, what is it like now?  Are they controlling # people at casinos, restaurants, clubs, etc?

Should I just cancel and come back in June?

Any input appreciated.

thursday through Sunday. You still have to wear a mask in hotels and restaurants and elevators are still only 4-5 people.
Smells like 420 everywhere on the strip and the freaks, hoodrats and wierdos are back.

Go Monday through wed/thursday.

I will say this July 4th weekend will be a scene like no other! Hella packed!!

The masks policy will probably not  go away til august or sept. Its the Govenors decision not Clark County.

Also, the Uber/Lyft is a nightmare and rental cars are going 2 to 3 times the rental rate as normal.

Just go to all the car rental websites and input your date(s) and see how wtf rates pop up!

Also, LV has a shortgage of cars like all the other big cities. Just because you pay first or have rental slot doesn't mean
you'll get the car. And the lines are almost 1-2 hour wait.

What do you mean by “UBER is a nightmare”? I like to take an UBER to off the strip locations for dinner or tours. Has UBER raise their rates like the car rental companies, not many available or longer wait times?

Very few Ubers and Lyfts available. Taxis are in short supply too. There was no work during the pandemic, and now that things are picking up there just aren’t enough drivers. Also, the Governor banned “surge pricing” in Nevada so what the drivers can earn is limited. It’s tough getting around town these days.

This is spot on!  Be very careful taking an Uber away from the strip.  We went to an Escape Room (which was a ton of fun) but had to wait forever to get a ride back.  There simply aren't any cars available because there are no drivers.

That's why I am not planning on heading to Vegas until October, hopefully things calm down by then.

all over the US. I have a few friends who travel and use Uber and they have reported a long wait for drivers.
And depending on the time of the day say for instance catching a very early morning flight in some cases no drivers available at all. Cabs know this and are taking a bit of time to get to people as well.
The strip has been packed with people but I have seen people still wearing their masks.
A few people I saw were not social distancing but that can apply to other states as well from my travels/observations.

Very helpful.  Thanks much.  Your tip about cars is helpful so I booked a driver.
Thanks

Packed now!
All the wacky wierdos, bible thumpers, chicks walking around with bride to be crown or sash, and of course the thots!

Plus, it hella smells like 420 everywhere if ya walk the strip.

Don’t rely on Uber from the airport- wait time was north of one hour— the line for the taxis was less then 5 minutes - they now offer fixed pricing from the airport to the hotels-worth the extra few $$.  When ever I needed an Uber or Lyft to go from the strip to an off strip location l, I reserved in advance and had no problem whatsoever..
I was in town a few weeks ago.

I am going to be in Vegas for a week starting the Memorial Day weekend. I looked at car Rentals and they are ridiculous. I found another option called Turo where you rent from private owners. Kind of like the Airbnb of cars. Just have to pick one with a lot of good reviews

Was in Vegas a few days ago.  I reserved an Uber a week in advance and added an extra hour for my trip to the airport knowing the issues.  I still had 2 drivers cancel when they were minutes away.  Must've found a better fare or something.  3rd guy didn't flake and got a big tip.  It's terrible right now for ride share.
