I started to post this on the Newb board, but it seems it's something unique to Vegas. I'm about to head out there for some fun and wanted to know about this.
I read in most of the Vegas reviews that the provider and hobbyist usually share a get-to-know-you drink in the hotel bar before an appointment. I expect that this is to allow the provider to make a judgment call about her own safety before going up and that's totally cool with me. Whatever makes a lady feel more at ease is fine.
I am curious though, is that pre-session drink on the clock or does the clock start ticking when you get to the room? Don't take this as a complaint if the clock starts on arrival. I just wanted to set my own expectations.
The clock doesn't start ticking until we get to the room. I wouldn't want to risk him or myself choking from gulping down a drink to fast, lol. Seriously though, when I do have a drink with a new friend it takes what 15, 20 minutes? Not that big of a deal. I require 3-4 hours between appointments and limit my daily appointments so it's not like I'm in a rush to get to the next client. Now if a guy is wanting dinner, drinks and then personal time, then that's something different. Hope this helps.
First, I'm not sure that is so unique to Las Vegas. I know a few girls in other parts of the country who prefer to meet their clients in public before retiring to the privacy of a room. As you said, it gives both parties a chance to get a feeling for each other and usually makes the private time less awkward and thus more fun!
Second, whether the time involved in getting to know each other better is on the clock or not depends on a few variables. There is no way to know in advance. I would leave it entirely up to the girl. But you don't have to bring it up in conversation. I would assume it is part of the time you are paying for and if it turns out that way, you won't be disappointed. If she decides that that time doesn't count toward your donation, I would consider that as a bonus and be thankful!
The few times that I saw clients in Vegas, they were staying at a hotel... So, going downstairs for a few drinks is pretty quick, easy, and beneficial for both parties in getting to know each other... In this case, the clock, for me, didn't start untill we were in the room... alone.
In LA, however, when a client wanted to meet at a bar first, it was a little more complicated... We were at the bar for about 30mins and the drive back to his condo took another 30-45mins... It wasn't, by any means, his fault; traffic in LA is a just pain. However... I don't think it's very considerate to take up so much of one's time... especially when it wasn't scheduled. Luckily, the client was a sweetheart and it worked out well for both of us.
To sum it up... If it doesn't take too much time, I wouldnt worry about the clock starting... However, I definitely recommend that you discuss this with the provider prior to... just to make sure.
