Soliciting for prostitution is not on their hit list of major offenses.

When he called me, I wasn't at home with my computer, so I went and grabbed and phone book to look up the number to call him back.  Once I knew he wasn't a prankster, he told me that he was searching for information and that I was viewed as a bit of a ring leader so I might have some more info from girls who didn't report it.  His problem was that some guy who was posing as a cop was robbing escorts.  He didn't give a shit that the escorts were being robbed, but that somebody was impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Look, I made a post to your post and did it with an alias. And you give proof here just exactly why aliases are used. A good friend of mine was busted last month by METRO.
This is a very well known successful local lady who was contacted on her website.
An outcall to a very upscale hotel was arranged to meet a Las Vegas visiter. The appointment was actually canceled once and reset for the following day. Since a pretty nice dialog had been established and time had transpired between the initial contact and the appointment date, my friend was pretty comfortable.
I point this out as its' been often a pattern with METRO that they are looking for instant gratification. They certainly dont want to spend countless days setting up for what will be a small arrest. Bless their little hearts they usually have more important crime fighting areas to focus on.
Well not so this time!

point, perhaps it's time to educate you. Heather could very well have obtained credible information that federal authorities are invetigating prostitution in Las Vegas.

   Do you remember the crime for which  the DC Madam was convicted? The Travel Act. It is a federal crime to use interstate facilities in furtherance of conduct that violates state prostitution laws. And, as Heather pointed out in her post, the use of the internet is one such facility.

   Is it reasoanable to dispatch the feds to bust an independent or two in Vegas? No, but if they are after an agency the feds may well be working with vice to bust some gals to build their Travel act case. That is exactly how the DC Madam got busted.

Why don't you give Heather a little credit? Frankly, she has a broader understanding of the law than you do.

Maybe it's time to go back to the ranch. You're obviously more comfortable there, and your menu is definitely more a brothel girl's menu than a indie's.

Not meant as a jibe or anything like that, but just an observation. You're an independent businesswoman, you have the right to set rates, menus, management status, etc..any way you want. At the end of the day, you have to do with what you're comfortable with, same as in any other profession. But, you did make some very strong statements, maybe it would help your credibility in making them by posting a link to your information or something like that.
