Hey all,
Anyone besides me having problems with Proton. My last few emails never made it to the recipient. Emails that were sent to me were never received. Proton Mail sent me an email that they have been hacked and more problems are still ahead.  what is everyone else doing? Or does anyone else have any insight.

I miss all you old characters from the board. It's still a great community.

I have not received any notification that "proton mail was hacked" and likely what you've experienced was a phishing attempt because a precursory google search suggests that there hasn't been any sort of attack on proton mail since early 2017, which was, again, a widespread phishing attack.

Without knowing what you saw/did/clicked, my best advice is to change your proton mail password ASAP, and make sure you don't have any IMAP/SMTP settings entered (you won't be default) and that there have been no additional users added to your account.

Sometimes protonmail messages get flagged as spam. Sometimes this happens when you have a link somewhere in the message chain (even if you aren't the one who sent it) and it'll get flagged.

Also worth noting, email isn't a guaranteed delivery service. Some messages get lost for a myriad of reasons, so you should never assume that you communication was successful.

Yes I have had many problem with proton mail lately, and yes, I received the same notification from them.
ALSO, I have had long delay problems sending and receiving email from the first day I began using them.
THEREFORE, I have stopped using proton mail.

Someone please tell me if I am wrong (and this was told to me by someone who considers himself an expert) -
1. Both parties have to use proton mail or the encryption does not work. If a client sends me mail from yahoo and I reply to him with proton mail, my email can still be read by a hacker on the clients end. Therefore it's useless to use it.

2. As long as we don't talk about what we will do sexually or sex for money, then LE really can't do anything with it. And remember they can still get info from the non proton user side.

3. Gmail is also encrypted, so if LE wants to see your email they have to get a court order. If they are getting a court order just for you then that means you are already a target and have a serious problem anyway.

4. Another reason sex workers wanted to change to proton right away is because they were worried gmail would cancel their accounts. Well they haven't (to my knowledge), and if they did, so just be ready to change then. It takes 2 minutes.

So I still have my proton mail account, but will only use it if and when I have to.

I have an open mind and still learning what to do, so if I am seriously wrong someone please tell me why. We all need to learn.

Stay safe everyone!

I received a message from Protonmail a couple of days ago that they were having problems with DDoS (Distributed-Denial-of-Service) attacks which were causing periodic outages for sending/receiving emails and they were working on the issues.  The message said that no customer emails were lost.  I still have all of mine and I haven't been having any problems for the past day or so.  I've been using protonmail for stuff other than the hobby for over 2 yrs and it's been pretty reliable until the recent DNS attack.  I switched over to using my protonmail account for the hobby when all of the FOSTA/SESTA started up, but I still have my Gmail account, so I could switch back at any time too.

In regards to end-to-end encryption, you can send encrypted email to non-protonmail users and they can send encrypted replies to your message, but the process sucks.  The encrypted message that you send is password protected, so you have to inform the recipient of the password that you set by some other means, so they can decrypt the message via the link to protonmail in the message.  There is also a link where the recipient can compose and send an encrypted reply.  Those encrypted messages that you send also expire after 28 days, so recipients will no longer be able to access the message after it expires.

Also, the "subject line" is not encrypted, so I would advise not to write anything sensitive in the subject line when composing new email.

Hi all thanks for the feed back. Unfortunately for all of you who sent me a pm please post it here on the board. My VIP expired and all my cc are blocked and I have not way to reinstate or get any of my pms.  TER support tells me to registrar with a credit card.  All my credit cards are getting rejected. I have no means to buy vip at this time.

This whole situation sucks.

check your spam every day. All of my emails that are sent to Proton Mail addresses end up in Spam. When you write to me from PM the emails come in blank. I hate PM. I wish the guys would use a different system. Hushmail seems to work fine.

I’ve had problems sometimes thinking an email has been sent when it’s being saved as a draft instead. It can last a while but I’ve noticed it only happens on the app, not the site. A reboot on my phone has done the trick so far but I still have to send my saved drafts individually. I’m not sure of the difference between the .com and .ch but I’ve been on the .com one ([email protected]) since I started just over a year ago and the only problem I’ve had is emailing support here. They say my emails come up blank. Other than that I’ve had no issues and lots of people have converted because of it. Can you tell me if you guys are having problems on .ch or .com or is it both? I know it’s the same company but I’m wondering if that might be a factor. Clearly I’m not a techie at all lol so please no eye rolls, it’s just a thought 🤔

A different problem I’m having is I’m unable to login to my site, not because of any crazy invasion or anything, I just can’t get to a login page because everything has been flipped around/shut down. I still get my screening form with no problem and I don’t use karma screens or any other data bases so your info stays between us as usual. The only major impact is I can’t upload my latest pics and my calendar is not current so please inquire for the most accurate availability.

Smooch, 😘 💋

LOL!  I love the typo of "pronto" mail.  (Pronto means "soon" or "quickly" in Spanish)

Nope, certainly nothing "pronto" about protonmail.  LOL!
I'm another who missed out on reuniting with a wonderful friend because my emails weren't delivered.
I experienced the same with SafeOffice.

So disappointed.  Some days I want to quit all together.  So much time wasted.  Ugh!

Hugs, all.

GMail, Yahoo, Outlook, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp or any other US - based service is turning their complete communications over to the NSA as soon as you hit the send button.  The fact that these companies along with all of the US based  ISPs (Verizon, AT&T, Spectrum, etc.) get billions (with a b) of dollars in revenue selling your communications has been well documented in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, the New York Times and on the Electronic Freedom Foundations' web site..  Remember the mysterious black barges that Google parked in the San Francisco bay a few years ago?  I confirmed with a software engineer assigned to the "secret" project that the barges were actually huge server farms to warehouse Google's collected user data until the NSA could spin up Iron Mountain in Utah, the worlds largest server farm and supercomputer complex.

If you actually read any of the "Terms and Conditions" instead of just clicking the box, You'll find that any data stored on the ISP or platform is the intellectual property of the ISP or platform.  For example, all data on Android phones is property of Google, and they sell it to the highest bidder.  Ditto with emails on Yahoo (the most hacked platform on the planet), Verizon, etc., etc.

I personally will not deal with any provider that DOES NOT have a Protonmail account - she may not care about her safety, but I care about mine. PASS!
