Having spent the last 10 months caring for my aunt and uncle who both died very slow deaths due to various cancers and having spent the last two months as my aunt's main caregiver and I can tell you that there is no dignity in dying only great pain and suffering...  I would like to thank my friends here who have allowed me to pull on their ear and given me endless support during this time ... a very warm and sincere thank you  ... My return to Vegas will be March 23 through the 26th (blackjack tourney at the Hilton)I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones ...... spinner

Spin, sorry to hear that was the cause of your absence from the boards.  Hopefully we can hook up when you're in town.  Keep your chin up bud... you did a good deed, and are due a reward.  The only question is...who's it gonna be?

We have not met and I don't post much if at all, only to offer tips and such, but I do know what you have gone through and I just thought I would offer my sympathies and prayers to you.  Three years ago I lost my mom in much the same way and you are right, it wasn't fun to watch and there wasn't much to do but to be there and do whatever I could to make her feel comfortable.  I don't know if it was just you there, but I had my brother and sister to help, hopefully you had help also.  I hope that there wasn't too much pain.  I'm terribly sorry for your loss.
