WORDPRESS is a decent platform but i would recommend Joomla. It gives you more options for third party extentions and components.

Good look, nice and clean.

What is Joomla? I just had my new site built, but I have never heard of Joomla.

-Content Management System.

Basically, it gives the user control over dynamic content: articles, journal entries, message boards, galleries, e-commerce, community building, rss feeds, affiliate ads, etc. through the use of components, modules and plug-ins.  Is easily configured and skinned.

A great application (I have done sites with Joomla), but for what The Vixen's site is and what your site is, it would be overkill; a lot of extensions that you would have no real use for.


As for the Vixen's site I think wordpress is fine, though had Zenzo asked me I would have suggested b2evolution or Serendipity. *grin*

I am familiar with all the major CMS systems.  (I own a couple hosting companies and have been involved with the internet since before it was commercial.)

I have used Joomla, drupal, b2, etc etc.  Most of them are great packages and have matured to a very usable level.  At this point it's a matter of preference.

For our purposes, wordpress is plenty sufficient.  
I like to keep things simple.  For me, it's easy to maintain and has very low overhead on the back end.

I agree with webbie on Joomla being overkill for a basic provider site.  Oh, it's doable and you can tone it down, but on the server back end it's much larger and has more overhead than wordpress or b2.
