The casinos quit giving free shrimp cocktails, to all their guests.  *Sigh* The good old days, in Las Vegas, are long gone! :(

Even though Cosmopolitan is a Marriott property I guess they jumped on board with everyone else with the parking fees.
The only ones left are Palazzo/Venetian and Hooters and maybe Circus Circus

For those of us who have been visiting Sin City for decades, it's amazing how things have changed over the years.  Vegas keeps re-inventing itself ...from the days of the mob where the gamblers were the targeted audience, to the big themed hotel/casinos making Vegas more family friendly, to the boutique resorts and mega-club era, and now we're into the stadium era with major sporting events, concerts, etc.  I'm afraid that resort fees and paid parking are here to stay, until Vegas re-invents itself yet again. ...hopefully, for the better.

The only major resort operator that has not yet announced paid parking is Sands (Venetian/Palazzo) but we all know it is just a matter of time for them, too. Caesars had to do it because people were parking in their lots to avoid the MGM lots and there was no room left for the actual Caesars customers. Tropicana is having the same problem on event nights at T-Mobile Arena (no parking available for their actual guests) so I am sure that they will follow suit soon, too. Same for Treasure Island since they are right next to Mirage and it is super easy for Mirage guests to park in their lot. By this time next year I would say there will be no free parking available anywhere on the Strip.

As long as they can't raise room rates for customers that are gambling less (per overall visitor) the hotels are going to do everything they can to squeeze every last penny out of us. The not so small resort fees allowed them to increase their nightly room take and at the same time reducing third party booking fees. They also get to advertise these great rates. The restaurants used to be a bargain, now maybe the buffets? I am not sure what a two night stay in LV costs for a couple but I would guess it averages (ex gambling) close to a grand and I am sure the best minds in the hotel and hospitality industry are trying to figure out how to increase that without killing the traffic.

It's only mony. Can't take it with you and I don't want my heirs to have it too easy.

Life is good.

Cosmo was stuck between the 2 MGM Giants Bellagio and Aria. I am sure guests at Cosmo were already complaining about the lack of park spaces.

It will discourage people from rental cars. I used to rent a car for about $120.00 per week (plus "fees") - now parking the car will cost me as much.

Uber and Lyft here I come.

My memories of Vegas go back to the late 70's when I first moved there (here). That was when the "families" still ran most of Vegas, but the corporations were just starting to make the moves to take over. I really miss that Vegas.

To keep this "Hobby related" those were the days when you could pick up a casino girl without worrying about waking up missing both kidneys. I used to love the girls that would hang out at one of the lobby bars at  Caesar's palace, there were some real hotties working there and I never had a problem getting ripped off as that kind of shit was "bad for business" and the offending hooker would be run out of the place and never allowed back.

Any one else remember when the pit bosses actually ran things? Many years before any one had ever even heard of "casino hosts"

Please tell me at least some of you remember, looking back on "Old Vegas" I am starting to feel old. lol
