Las Vegas

I think it is a problem of group think.

going to be in Las Vegas in October for another Nerd conference. I've been watching the boards and checking reddit. Is it my imagination or are things slow in Vegas? I know that Summer is like a bazillion degrees, and a good reason to wait for a different season, but I see comments about the casinos being very quiet and business in general being slow..  For entertainment, it seems like all the providers hang out in NYC (one of the few places that makes Las Vegas seem cheap)  and its just the locals in the Vegas area ? Don't worry, I plan on seeing a couple of my favorites when I'm out there, but its always nice to see a new face now and again.

And yes, I'd say its quite definitely slower than the last time (over a decade ago) I spent reasonable amounts of time here. Everyone kept saying that it'll pick up when the weather gets better (said in the spring) or that it'll pick up when the weather gets cooler (said currently) and yeah, mmm nope.... it hasn't picked up in any perceptible way.
.
But I will confess to having met a few super cool Burners this trip! I'm going to have to go one of these years....

The media pushes the narrative that “Vegas is dead” or “slow,” and if you hear it enough, you start to believe it—then your business reflects that belief.

The reality? Vegas is more expensive, yes, and some people push back because they want the “good old days” when they could afford more. But when they stop coming, they’re quickly replaced by those who can. I’m here on the ground, and I can tell you—the parking garages are packed, shows are sold out every night (even at $500+ a ticket), and the sports scene has brought in a whole new wave of visitors.

Of course, we’ll always have a slow week here or there—this town has always been feast or famine. But overall, I’m making just as much (if not more) than ever… while also spending more to live here than ever. Vegas used to be cheaper for us too.

So when people say “Vegas is dead,” what I really hear is scarcity mentality. For them, it is. Because they believed it.

Hi! I was just in Vegas this past weekend. I can assure you there wasn's a lack of people at the Tao Day club on Saturday! We could barely walk - but I think that's normal for the day club.

I have heard various opinions from the locals (I like to hear what they have to say). I got mixed opinions about how 'busy' or 'slow' it has been this year. One man broke it down for me & said the financials are good for casinos overall whereas the amount of individuals may be a bit less. So more spend from fewer people, according to this one person. My provider friends that live locally (I visit about 6x a year but reside in LA), have told me they tour other cities - but not more than usual. As you may already know, the hottest part of the summer can be a bit of deterrent as well, outside of WSOP and convention weeks etc.

Tourism is down across the country.  It isn't just Vegas.  The economy is off and international tourism is down.  Even if it is off 10%, there are still a lot of people here and the nicer places are still doing really well.  Instead of walking into a room with 100 people, there are 90 people.  The naked eye can barely tell the difference.

when I am here, I tend to stay pretty busy. But I'm also new to the ambiance.

If you are looking for someone new, I hope you would consider me.

It was slow as hell. Pit crews at Aria and Cosmo complained. Weekend was slow but mid week was a big wtf. My fmty made it worth it 😂

I was there a few weeks ago and it seemed, not empty but just slow and no vibe.
The convention/show I do every Aug and Feb is always kinda busy. This year...it was bad.

I'm probably not a new face to Vegas but I'm not there often so if we are there at the same time, that would be awesome. Message me if you're interested.

It’s been slower, but I’ve been having the best time still. There are a lot of deals for locals which I’ve been taking advantage of.

If you’re interested in meeting up, let me know…

Hope your trip goes amazing 💋
