Who here would ever take a volunteer's efforts for granted?  Yes indeed, that's a rhetorical question.

I think they are planning one in the Spring, they usually have one around Halloween and AVN / CES .  But if you are an out of towner like me wouldn't it be nice to have an annual schedule ?  Or even better yet , once a month, even if it cost a couple of bucks ? From what I've read they only charge like $40.  I spent more last year going to the MGM Studio 54, only to get treated like a perverted stalker by the civies just because I asked them to dance.  I wasn't even trying to get laid, I just wanted to dance.  And I asked the oldest, heaviest, homeliest ones I could find that standing around doing a little wallflower dance.  Made me feel like a real loser.

If you don't like how things are done, do them the way you want to, and see what happens. M&Gs aren't profitable entities; they're done for and by the community. That community includes you. You would not be the first out of towner to throw a M&G.

And a couple of ways to kill something nice off is to take it for granted (by turning it from a special event to a routine obligation- nobody wants a sausage party and people get bored), or to take the work unpaid volunteers perform for granted (by implying that they need they need to perform more uncompensated work, in order to comply with YOUR needs).

I know what it takes to pull of an event like that, its allot of work.  The parties are always well reviewed on this board, I'm just a little envious that I haven't had the freedom to attend one.  I recognized you as the organizer of the one at AVN.  Please keep up the good work, eventually I'll be able to work my schedule to attend one, assuming I can meet the standard for an invite.

Really I didn't mean to come off as complaining, Im just jealous.

One additional very important point that I would like to mention is the real possibilty of negatively effecting the host or co- host in their own personal pocketbook.

Anyone interested in hosting an event can always run into an unforseen situation where the door doesnt cover the expenses. More easily put, monies spent up front to cover the cost of the venue, the food, the liquor, the cleaning fees and the occassional accidental damage are not always completely covered by the door making it necessary for the organizers to cover the shortfall.

Those who feel that throwing a M&G can be profitable hasn't been involved in their hosting.  At least in Vegas.

Organizers are people who unselfishly step forward for the sake of the community and in the spirit of good times.

You make a fair point.  However, thats one reason why I don't hold my parties in a private home.  Its just too risky.  Liability and otherwise.  I've never had a problem covering expenses.  I am lucky as I have found venues that provide a minimum that we easily make.  In fact, they want us back.  LOL.
