I posted this question under the newbie's board, but I also wanted to get some answers from vegas, my regional board.  I am curious why people use alias' on the ter boards.  A poster on the erotic highway stated that an alias was being used.  Several questions as to why use one, does someone benefit from it provider/hobbiest, is there a way to know if it is an alias, etc.

1. Because I can
2. To be a smart ass
3. To pick on someone for asking stupid questions
4. To protect the identity of a lady or gent
5. To use a name that works with the question

In this case, number 4 does not apply.
