Deposits and flakes

I understand that nobody likes deposits, however, can we be fair about this? Things beyond our control happen…and you also have to understand that clients flake as often if not more than providers. In fact, flakes are WHY we require deposits now. just had a guy make an appointment for incall, demanded a specific location on the other end of town, but then won’t pay deposit, won’t meet me at hotel, and basically said he won’t compromise at all. So we the providers are supposed to do all the bending folding and risking, spending around 200 bucks on just accommodations, before we see even a dime that may or may not show up? Oh and one other thing I found interesting…guys will call every chick with an ad on first page, book with them ALL, say they are on the way, but decide to visit air mattress Ashley because she will do it all for 87 dollars. So you can’t really be upset if a booker prioritizes calls based on amount. Too many times we have scheduled and went through hell to get a room in order to accommodate YOU THE CLIENT. Said that to say, that it would be wonderful if EVERYONE exercised common courtesy. If you change your mind or decide to go some other route COMMUNICATE. And NOT five minutes prior to the session. On both ends of this thing we do, there are risks. Just try to keep that in mind before you say someone is a flake. Ladies, be a woman of your word. If everyone makes an effort to minimize risk here, this can be as fun as it used to be. Just my opinion
Ps not meant to cause any arguments or pointing fingers, said with pure intentions. And meant respectfully.

Previous to Covid hardly any providers had asked for deposits.  Secondly, I can’t even tell you how many times I have gotten burned and have been ghosted or providers canceling 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment.

If a client has a strong TER profile and references that should be more than enough.

The environment has changed for the better.
Clients are not dealing with deposits or attitudes any longer!
Providers need to come with better ways of get and keep clients.
In your example of the guy that asked for a specific hotel, did you order him an alternative since you had some type of disagreement with that location?
Or did you shut it down because he wouldn't give a stranger money before he saw you?

Do better

So I think that if anyone is getting burned the client or the provider then it’s on the individual.  Every client can do His research by reading reviews on the girl that he is requesting. Making sure there’s multiple reviews on that girl and making sure that they are all positive. At the same time we have a responsibility of screening who we’re going to see before we make that commitment to see them. Via whitelist here on TER, asking for References,  making sure that they are worth the time and effort I spend. I never ask for a deposit instead I do my research. That’s just my take I’m not saying that it is wrong to get a deposit. I’m just saying there’s another option.

I don’t have time to waste, and will never have any out of pocket expenses. I had to hit the like button on your post. Deposits are required everywhere it’s normal. Beauty, Health, Leisure…I have to put a deposit down for breast implants, tooth gems, eyebrows microblading, reservations, car painting, unfortunately, not many have integrity maybe 5% it’s very hard to find. Anything worth getting done professionally requires a deposit & especially, when your booking a service. Independent Contractors.

There is recourse if those businesses keep my deposit without providing services.  How can I get my deposit back from a provider who rips me off?

And being a companion is legal, as well.
Although, you can’t leave a bad review if you have not seen her, word gets around . You can hurt a gal where it counts by dropping a little 411 in groups such as this. It won’t get your money back but can hurt her for a long time.
*On the flipside fake negative reviews or dishonest information is super nasty. Unethical and unkind. JS

Independent contractor is a legal occupation. You don’t become reputable person by stealing deposits without providing a service. Professional. Some of us are truly genuine. Solid.

Now see? I was not rude or disrespectful to you by any means. I did not say anything that was belittling either. I’m not doing bad by any means, and you know nothing about me or what I do. But attitudes like the negative one you just displayed are exactly what I try to avoid. So if requesting a deposit will help me weed out this sort of negativity, then I guess I am doing better than not. But I value your input. Xoxo
Hope you feel better

Without some individual being rude or disrespectful. Weather you like what I said or not…it was a point of view that you don’t have to agree with. If you disagree so be it.  I won’t lose any sleep either way.  And While you may not agree, there are plenty that do.

Right on. As I stated before, I had no problem with what he requested as far as location. But the point was that realistically that weekend, I wasn’t going to risk that amount of money on a room to see him. I believe in being fair. And the policies I have are from experience and lessons learned the hard way…has nothing to do with my attitude, nor do I require all my clients to pay deposit. But I’m going to protect myself first and that’s just business.

Few months back scheduled 3 hrs with. A provider. Set time and at my hotel on strip. Gave a small deposit out of trust. Hr before meet I called to confirm everything. No response. I called 3x over the hr. Left msg on 3rd time saying I hope they were ok and something must’ve come up. I kindly asked for a return of deposit. 5 mins after meet time I started scheduling other things. I get a text stating they were on the way. 20 mins later another text stating they were 30 mins away. I called and was told provider is t cancelling they are just running late therefore, they are keeping my deposit. I wasn’t going to wait and hope they show if they show at all. I walked away from deposit. Being late happens but lack in transparency and communication is deliberate. I will never give deposit again.
