I have not been up to Mt Charleston yet! I keep looking at these beautiful mountains covered in snow and just want to go explore. Is it safe?

Go the resort. It's pretty and they have other things to do up there if you aren't into skiing.Or if you are even better.I went tubing there before which was really fun it's just freaking cold lol

Had a drink by the fireplace at the Lodge and watched the snow fall outside.  It was safe and the roads were clear.  Always check the weather before heading up there though as it can change on a daily basis.  Definitely worth seeing and only 45 minutes from Vegas.  Have fun!

I drove up there during the off season a year ago or so.  There was a little snow on the ground at the time,   it's some very pretty country,  and some good places to eat up there.   Very much worth the time and trip to go visit.  With the snow right now, it's probably very pretty.  Go for it.

Absolutely beautiful! It doesn't take much time to get up there. Best to go in the morning, in the afternoon the sun casts shadows over the landscape. My favorite way to go is to drive up about 10 miles past the exit for Mt. Charleston and come in the back way through LEE Canyon. Just follow the signs. Have an Irish Coffee or a Bloody Mary at the Lodge and then come back down the short way. It's an excellent way to spend the morning.
