I am paying Cox almost $95 per month for basic phone service and high speed internet.  There has got to be something cheaper since I am already paying Dish a fortune for all my freaking sports & porn channels.

I just use the phone line for the alarm and 911 as I NEVER make calls on it.  Can anyone point me in another direction?

Have you checked out Embarq - now called Century Link? I bundle all 3 with them. HD Dish Network, internet, phone. It might be worth looking at for you. New customers get cut rates for the first year. Switching won't disturb your porn, lol.

Clear offers Internet and phone service but I think the problem is the alarm system hooked up to the phone line.  The alarm systems usually have a special jack they use to override the phone line so they can get priority on the line.  Not sure if a rather new service like Clear can handle the alarm system (or if they have a good wireless signal out to your home).

Ive been paying $150.00 for a bundle including dsl, a phone line and cable with hbo and encore. Not sure what the other channels would cost to add on, but I did notice them offering  a special for 12 months at $99.00  for the three basic services.  I guess you'd have to see what your porn and sports would be to add on.

Thanks for sharing the info for the uninformed lol. I hate the 2 main options here in town and got a wireless modem through a wireless phone service but it just doesn't have the speed I want and I was thinking I would have to go back to cox ugh.

Got the phone and a 10meg(have no idea how to type that) internet connection for 69.00.  Man I love that number!  Really had no idea when they started asking me what speed I wanted so I went with the mid range one I think.  Still 25.00 cheaper than cox!
