Just a general question. Can a visitor get to your room without a room key? The info. Ive been able to find is it depends on the tower.

Can someone with the know give me the scoop, please?

Thanks!

Yes a visitor can get to your room without a key. I was just there last night & I didn't have any problems.

Since Caesars is one of the hotels that I seem to visit quite a bit , I know the history of
it's security and room keys ;-)

Years ago a room key was required  ( for any tower ) to get past security and get to the room.
When Caesars opened the Augustus tower , they put a security guard 24/7 for the Augustus tower.
Due to budget cuts they took the security guards away from the other towers.
At that time , since most guests were put in the Augustus tower , it didn't make sense to have security at the other towers.

In the mean time Caesars was remodeling all of the old towers  ( Centurion, Roman, Palace, and Forum ) and working on building another new tower. ( Octavius Tower.....which is now open )

Looking to save more money , they started security at the Augustus tower  from 10:00pm till the morning. instead of 24/7

By the time the other towers were back in use and the new Octavius was also open , the whole - show your room key to a security guard was eliminated to save on extra costs.

On rare occasions if some VIP is staying at the hotel or if something major is really going on they MAY , put a guard from 10:00 pm till the morning by the Augustus tower which also leads to the   Octavius tower..........but that is really very very rare.

Since the beginning of the year I have been to all of the towers. all hours of the day and night .
Security has never been around.
I was at Caesars during SuperBowl weekend and MAJIC ........ still no security by the elevators.

So as of now a visitor can get to your room with out a room key ;-) ;-)

As you can see , because of this history people may not have a clear answer of yes or no and why maybe there is confusion about it .

But Spice girl always has the inside scoop *wink wink*

BTW there are ladies out there ( like myself ) who understand that a gent may need discretion and can not risk being seen in public with a lady.
The gent is here on business and may have many other business associates staying at the same hotel.
There is no need to meet me at Valet ........ I don't even park at Valet.
To be private and to keep a low profile ,I self park.
and no need to meet at a bar either .

Although there are many ways to be discreet and meet a lady to give her a room key if that is required to get to the room .
Defiantly coming to a hotel that doesn't require a room key to get to the room , scores extra points. ;-) ;-)

The Cosmopolitan also said they would never charge a resort fee. That lasted a long time. NOT.

With all the MGM and now Caesars hotels charging a resort fee, there are very few left who dont.

I know Elara dont, and I know some downtown hotels such as El Cortez dont, as I have stayed at both quite recently.
There are probably a few others, but its only a matter of time before every single place follows suit.

Personally its never bothered me.
When I book any room, I factor in the resort fee with the final tally, and if its acceptable to me, I book it.

I usually pay for wi-fi anyway, so if thats included in the resort fee, then I feel like I am getting something for it.
Unlike the daily newspaper, which is useless to me...lol.

Thank you for the very informative reply. It's very important to me for visitors to go straight to the room.

Resort Fees ?? I call that BS fees  LOL LOL LOL LOL

I thought all the hotels were already doing that ....... well it was just a matter of time .

I mean geez,  if the hotels needs more money to cover expense , then just frickin charge more money for the room instead of hitting the guest up for some BS fees.

Free wifi included ?? many don't need their wifi they have their own air card or have a blackberry ,
droid , Iphone or Ipad with cellular use ......not to talk about how slow the hotel wifi is and who needs them up in your business .

Free newspaper .........people still actually read news from a paper ? ;-) ;-)

Free access to fitness club ....... ok really how many people actually do that  ? ;-)
On vacation ? doesn't that mean also a vacation from workouts
Here for a convention ? with all the work and dinners you have to go to , gents hardly have time to see an escort , less alone work out . ;-) ;-)

Free Valet ? , ok some do rent cars while here  , but most don't . and it isn't really free as you are expected to tip valet.
Self parking , now that is free ....... Unless you are downtown LOL LOL LOL

but WOW, what a way to make money , charging for things that people don't use.

Imagine if escorts would charge an extra "hooker fee" LOL LOL LOL
hey you get free condoms . lube , massage oil and lingerie or outfit of your request !!
LOL LOL LOL LOL
