quick question..I recently (today actually) refused to see someone who was here for bussiness supposedly from a very distant state..that states he" travels all over for work"..but he does not have a cell phone..I just felt it was a little weird..I did not feel safe to see him.I recently had a very nice client who really scared me with horror stories of providers getting nabbed even though they checked out the clients..I know very well that this is no sure way to be 100% safe all the time..I hate to ask for too much personal info as much as clients probably hate to give it..but the no cell phone really seems weird...to be a hobbiest frequently and travel all over.. did not seem to add up..what do you think????

If you travel a lot you would be foolish not to have a cellular phone.  I think you made a wise choice.

Way too many bad things can happen for you girls. As a hobbyist, I would rather there be a safer environment for all the ladies. Hate to see something bad happen to anyone, especially the great providers.

NO WAY does someone "travel the country" and not have a cell phone, blackberry, or some other device to keep in touch. Good call...

Ok I am not a hobbyist ;-) But I do have an answer ,

Yes it would be strange  that he doesn't have a cell phone .  although not everyone does ...... you would think now a days who doesn't have a cell phone ????......... BUT , because he states that he "travels all over for work"  hard to believe he doesn't have a cell phone .

A client may also say that  he doesn't have a cell  because he doesn't want to give out the number for  different reasons .....His wife also uses the phone or  checks  the bills  . The cell was given to him by his work place and he is worried what if they find out .......are some of the reasons .

I have seen clients who had no cell phone . Just because a client has a cell phone doesn't make him "safe" . There are ways to verify a client to be sure he is who he says he is without getting to much personal info . Use your instincts and remember better safe then sorry . ;-)

BTW you site looks great ! Your photos are very sexy and erotic !
Have a Happy and Safe Halloween
Peace and God Bless America !

The best thing to do is to trust your gut, it sounds like to me you made a good call for you.

Better safe than sorry I agree ... but for years I also traveled East to West coast with a pager and a calling card and no cell phone .. the costs of the cell for total USA access with the amount of mins. I needed was too costly vs. a pager and calling card. my .02  Now he may have a cell phone, and feels really weird about giving out that number because someone may question his calls to you when the home office reviews his bill. again my .02

It could be that this individual, for whatever reason, just wasn't comfortable giving out a cell phone number.  I know many hobbyiests that won't give out any personal info that can be traced back to them.

But, as a professional lady, gotta trust your instincts, cuz sometimes, that's all you have to rely on.

Not true.  I travel a lot too and dont have a cell phone.  I have Onstar and a car phone and keep in touch just fine via internet after I check into the hotel.  Not saying you made the wrong call Megan, just that that its quite possible he doesnt have a cell phone.

OnStar is basically a mobile/cell phone that's attached to the car.

Travelling all over for business and no mobile phone?  At least he could have picked up one of those pay as you go phones.  Harder to trace when you pay cash for the phone and the monthly (or more often) refills.  And that's if he was worried about someone seeing his credit card/phone bills.

Next best thing would be use to a verification service like RS2K or DateCheck or something like that.

Better safe than sorry.

Seems like every snot nosed punk on the street has even got a cell, sure doesn't make much sense for a guy away for work all the time not to carry one, smart move begging off sound pretty damn wierd to me also

You have to go with your gut feeling. More often than not, it will be right.

Megan, it is always best to go with your first gut reaction. Anyone who travels a lot will have a cell phone to contact his office or his home instead of using the hotel phone system. The day of the call card, for most people, is behind us.

The things annoy me, frankly -- well, that the people who use them rudely annoy me is the more accurate thing to say. Consequently, I have to use public phones when doing the "two-call tango." One provider I visited recently was absolutely flummoxed that I didn't have one; she couldn't imagine her life without it.

On the other hand, you were absolutely within your rights to refuse the appointment if something made you uncomfortable, whatever the reason may have been.

I think you may have stumbled onto something here...

I too travel all over the country so I am somewhat familiar.  My guess is that his cell is provided to him by his work and he chose not to give the number out in an effort to not be embarrassed later.  Of course the easiest solution is to get a pay-as-you-go phone but it may not have occurred to him to go that route.

All that said, megan's decision to refuse service was a good one.  Its always better to be safe than sorry and if you felt uncomfortable then more than likely neither of them would have enjoyed the date.

I don't think any lady has any obligation to see any particular gentleman.  If you don't feel comfortable then don't do it, and tell him why - you are uncomfortable.  And in my mind that should be reason enough.  Now maybe some guys would get upset with that, but I don't think you have any reason to feel guilty about it or any need to back off that position.

He also travels the country and always responds to us via email. To my knowledge he's never had problems seeing Escorts but he does provide several references if needed.

I know what Onstar is.  Since I have it, I dont need a mobile cell phone.  As I explained, when I travel, I keep in touch via email.

having agreed with 99% of things posted here about gut instinct etc the same can be said about providers who don't have websites or even emails etc just rely on mobile phones when they're indie

in the same light why would an indie provider not have computer/email access? I 100% agree with you and others saying gut feeling etc
