I know this was talked about in a thread from a week or so ago--I've been out of town for awhile (a situation which I hope to rectify soon) so I was unaware of this show altogether until I saw it mentioned here.  I love Absinthe, so I assume I'll enjoy this one, but I'm still confused about how this all works:

So it's a bar, a restaurant (with defined seating times) and a show all at once?  And the cast come and mingle with the bar and restaurant patrons as "part of the experience"?  And are the restaurant and the various acts so loud that you can't really engage in much conversation with your date?  That's the one thing I don't like about a lot of Vegas restaurants--too much ambient noise, plus loud music in many--makes it difficult to talk much.

It vaguely reminds me of a fad in dinner theatre in the 90s where you'd go to a faux "wedding" at a catered hall, and you weren't immediately certain who the "cast members" were and who were your fellow customers.  Every table at the reception would have at least a couple of cast members in the mix, and you'd get to hear all sorts of fake scuttlebutt about the bride's or groom's family.  Or you'd get out on the dance floor with someone who would whisper to you, "Don't tell anybody, but they *had* to get married", etc, etc.

And then there'd be "gunshots" or something, and it turned into a real-life game of "Clue" as you tried to figure out (based on what you'd picked up at the reception) who had whacked whom and why.

IOW, kind of an "interactive" theatre experience, combined with a little bit of role-play.

Is that what RRL is, only with an Absinthe-like overtone?  And, other silly question:  Is it as bawdy or "adult" as Absinthe?  Or to put it another way, how much subtle naughty play can a couple indulge in if say, hands or other body parts are under the tablecloth in the restaurant--and how sexy/suggestive are the acts themselves?  Would the acts kind of make you *want* to engage in naughty play?  (You know, sort of the way Zumanity tries to market itself?  Except they fail miserably..that show does virtually nothing for me...)

I have seen Absinthe 3 times now; all diff times...  Each show was different; most of the performers were the same, some were different.  On all separate trips, My dates and I opted not to dine there, as a close civvie girlfriend told me the food was not very good.  And, I love a Great meal.    Two of my trips we ate before the show, (Cosmo has some of the best restaurants in my opinion), and one time ate after the show at another hotel.

I think hands down Absinthe is the best show on the strip. It is funny and naughty and awe-inspiring.  
RRL on the other hand is not funny or naughty. The acts are awe-inspiring but since they are mostly balancing acts they are slow and lack the energy of absinthe.  
I love the venue of RRL. The food was very good although pricy. You can spring for a $1200 king crab or a $275 beef wellington. We stuck to a variety of small plates that were very creative and tasty.  
During dinner you will be entertained by small acts around and or above you. They are not interactive. During showtime you can request a table backstage and that is the best spot in the house. You don't see the show but it is cool seeing behind the curtain plus there is an aerial act going on.  
Going to RRL is much more than just going to their show entitled "Nocturne". It is a really cool place to eat and drink. I would skip the show though. I found the show room to be too warm and the show to be so relaxing it made me sleepy.  I was pretty board during the show and would only repeat if the tickets were free.

Absinthe was recommended by the hotel personnel. I bought a VIP seat (rows 1-4 are VIP). The ticket taker says VIP cannot go through the main entrance but I will have to walk to the phone booth. I thought, "what"? After I looked confused the ticket taker says, "Walk inside the phone booth. Now push on the wall where the phone is attached." I push the wall holding the phone and it's a door leading in the tent. People began shouting "Hello"! Samantha is correct in saying you'll need tissue because it's so funny. I will definitely go back and laugh my ass off.
