just following up on a thread a while back about learning some phrases in Korean.

We should thank BP for the Rocket Language link. I was wondering around on the site and came across:
아니요, 미혼이에요.
Aniyo, mihon-i-eyo.
No, I'm single.

In the section on describing yourself.

What made me laugh is that the what that sounds in Korean is a bit like "Me horny a oh" which is really not off for many who are single ;-)

Not sure if it's a Korean joke as well; once when I tried to find some that were all largely plays on the Korean and how they sound in English.

A famous example of homophonic translation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homophonic_translation

Humpty Dumpty         Un petit d'un petit
Sat on a wall.            S'étonne aux Halles
Humpty Dumpty, Had a great fall.   Un petit d'un petit, Ah! degrés te fallent

And all the king's horses        Indolent qui ne sort cesse
And all the king's men    Indolent qui ne se mène
Couldn't put Humpty    Qu'importe un petit
Together again.        Tout gai de Reguennes.

Carmina Kai took the name Carmina from Carmina Burana which is popularly parodied homophonically on youtube.  O! Fortuna!   Oh, four tuna

More foreign language examples, BUT NO KOREAN, under "soramimi" at wikipedia:

whenever I hear a ceration Nivarna song the stance "all we know is all we are" always sounds to me like "all we know is oreos" -- which really isn't all that bad ;-)

There are quite a few homophonic parodies out there. "Oh four tuna" is the first one that I encountered years ago. You need to have a pretty bad ear to hear "Gopher Tuna" for "O! Fortuna!" when "Oh, four tuna!" seems like a natural fit.

But I think that the composer had a very CarlOrfful life and career ... and here's a very CarlOrfful portrait

I'm certain that the Wicked Witches soldiers are intoning "Or-E-Os" as they march into her castle.

I wonder what Nabisco paid for that product placement

I always thought their mantra was more of a DOUBLE product placement:

Oreo, Yo Ho.
Oreo, Yo Ho.
Oreo, Yo Ho.
Oreo, Yo Ho.

Yo Ho must have paid too much. They are now out of business.

o-RE-o, Yohhhhhh ho
o-RE-o, Yohhhhhh ho
