I try to keep a spending budget for visits, who keeps one

Down in LA it's a bit more expensive than in the Bay, we are lucky in that respect.

For me, it depends a lot on how busy I am with work.

I'll go some months where I am super busy and only get to visit twice in a month.
When it is slow, I may visit 2 or 3 times a week.

I've even seen 2 in a day when super antsy
and once I saw 3 in a day (Not to long ago)

You've got to figure out what your comfort level is physically and financially.

...and I keep it encrypted so it doesn't get exposed.

I do this with all my expenses, hobbying should be no different IMO. Crucial to my financial sustainability.

When I have a favorite, I used to book 2 hour appointments.  
Now, if she has a room mate that looks good, I'll see the favorite at noon or so, go eat lunch, and book the roomie at 2. Works well :-

Of course I almost fell asleep on the way home at midnight.

The last girl about killed me, literally. Haha
