that is 40-ish (or anywhere up to 70) is feeling like you are not getting as much mileage out of your workouts, have low libido, or performance difficulties in the bedroom on occasion, it could very well be low-T. You can find out by buying a simple test online for $99 (includes both T score and PSA), at Healthonelabs.com, then go to a Quest Diagnostics location and they draw the blood and process the test. You prepay with a credit card and Healthone will send you the results by email within 72 hours. This eliminates going to the doctor FIRST. If you ARE low T, then you can have the lab results in your hand when you see the doctor. He may want other tests (Hematicrit and liver function), too, but this will be enough to determine whether or not you are even a candidate for TRT before you talk to a doc.
I have read just about everything on the internet about TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) and this website was the most informative for me early on. https://dosagemayvary.com/. It discusses benefits, side effects, pros and cons, and has some imput from patients, so I would recommend studying up a little before making a decision to go ahead. Its not for everyone, but if you're like me, and your two major passions in life are weight-lifting and pussy, it makes a lot of sense to go this way.
Once you take the plunge, as the website is named, "dosages may vary", so prepare for a three to six month period up front where you and your doc tinker with the dosages to find the sweet spot that gives you max performance (both athletic and sexual) and minimum side effects. The biggest danger in TRT is its effect on prostate cancer. If you have cancer cells in your prostate, it will accelerate the growth, in which case you are NOT a candidate for this therapy. Whenever I get tested I always package a prostatic antigen test (PSA) with the T scores. Your doctor can fully explain what score is "normal" for you based on your age and physical condition.

I had my libido checked 5 years ago as I was not really getting excited at early age. My testosterone result from Quest Diagnostic level came back about 35% above the normal level, so my nuts were loaded. Also it takes me a long time to shoot the first load (typically 25-35) minutes of jack rabbit action and that is why hardly can get me to shoot twice.
I guess that I am wired differently; Let's say that getting laid is low level of priority for me. I will cancel a session or won't schedule getting laid if it interfere with my workout classes routines and I only like it very first thing in morning.
One of the few times that I did a marathon run was in 2004 when I was in Austria where I did some 36 times in 11 days trip and when I came back to USA, I did not do a session for 6-7 months.
