I've said it many times - I can see the argument of face especially with things like pimeyes on the rise (by the way try it out on some kgirl ads - it works a lot of times), bu with body there's no "personal safety" concerns as long as things like unique tats are PSd out.

I even pointed out the Canada's agency pics, where girls and their bodies look like actual human beings. Maybe it's just me, but I find pics ofnreal human bodies with imperfections much more exciting and attractive than a model pic who is bleached an psd to death.

The safety issue has nothing to do with having done a photoshoot but being recognized and associated with this activity. But I do agree on that point the blurred face is sufficient in most cases. But that was more of an aside.

 
I'm questioning the underlying claim that somehow things drastically change. How many times have you seen a collection of reviews where one of the early reviews notes fake/unrepresentative pics, and calls of other differences in the profile from what is on the ad AND then a bunch of later reviews that basically all say the same thing. And these follow on reviews are not from new reviewers who might have never seen the earlier review.

 
My take is most of us here are well versus with how ads work and tend to discount the imagery so most of these guys are not really disappointed with what they got. Similarly, given the ads is not really believed (until vetted via a number of paths -- most of which generally support the initial discounted interpretation) they don't actually drive sale all that much above what the provider would get anyhow. So I'm not at all sure the "lead to a better experience and business for the ladies" is correct.

 
I suspect that view is largely coming from a rather naive and idealistic view of competitive market dynamics.  They reflect a desire to have some better outcome fail to consider why that preferred outcome isn't what exists.  It's not like we don't have this discussion a couple of times a year (or more). But to my view, we never actually hear more than oversimplified explanations of why and few if any suggestion on just to achieve the change. So it kind of ends up being some people saying "I'm not really happy and someone else should change what they are doing to make me happier."

 
I have the impression that this is one of areas where a large majority of the TER community mostly shrugs their shoulders and thinks, yeah the world could be better but this one is pretty low on the priorities for me. But for some it's a torch they want to carry and mostly seem to be hoping others will join.

 
Maybe TER should have one of its polls and pose the question(s) about this topic. Maybe how often does someone believe what they see in the ad. How often do they base their decisions on the ad. What percentage of sessions were clearly outside their expectations -- and perhaps even include both positive and negative cases where expectations and reality diverged enough for it to matter. Perhaps even add, if you could take the ad pics as true, how much would that change what you do prior to scheduling a session. (Wondering in the back of my mind if some just hope they could just look at pictures and then make the call so this would greatly reduce the effort for them.)
