Prostitution in South Korea is illegal, mind you, but it’s everywhere, and it’s in your face. So much so that 1 in 5 men pay for sex FOUR GODDAMNED TIMES A MONTH. It’s not just “1 in 5 men have visited prostitutes before in their lives.” Oh no. 1 in 5 men go to prostitutes REGULARLY, so much so that if stamp cards were offered, 1 in 5 men would have boxes full of them.
I think seeing a prostitute is part of the culture in korea. Have room salons during business meetings etc..
Red ligh districts with girls sitting outside glass doors etc and cops just drive by in plain view.

Not necessarily. It's been getting more attention in the recent years but the sex services was something that the ROK and USA governments had an agreement on for the USA military (and I assume the support contractors as well) stationed there. It's just as likely that the police have been told "hands off" they are not for you.
What's probably a more interesting question here, though probably one that should not be brought up in ROK, is the juxtipostion of the US-ROK agreement and the issue of Comfort Women during WWI and Japanese occupation.

I don't want to completely discount your statement as I think there's some truth to it. However, anyone who has read many reviews or even these forums will know that not everyone paying for sex is doing anything resembling "making love". Unfortunately some clients seem to be taking something out on these women when they have sex -- "pounded that pussy", "she can take a real pounding" and similar statements as well as other demeaning statements about the girls is too common in my opinion.
I hear you and agree, but I used the word Love to smooth out the lust. You have to admit it is a complicated subject. In reading the other post, I have no clue in the real reasons for the issues in this post, I posted to soon.
