The assumption here is that the guy did something wrong, ie jump the gun in terms of arriving early. I don't think it's that clear cut. There are many circumstances that could result in the same outcome.
For example, a guy simply can arrive later even if he was given the green light earlier than the roomies client. It can be all kind of things - lack of someone to trail behind to enter a garage, got lost, "non-kgirl ecosystem" people around the apt door, broken elevator, nosey security guards, bad instructions..thats just off top of my head. There can be a million of reasons.
Now, generally you will keep the po posted so he/she knows where you are and if there are any issues. But again depends on the gap between green lights. Some orgs in the bay are known for giving it too close and as a result many guys do bump heads and into each other. That's not really on the mongers anymore, is it?
Hell, I heard of a story where a kgirl took in the other roomies guy simply because she felt like it. She knew it wasn't her guy bit she didn't care. She is a special girl, one who would get into fistfights with roommates and call cops on them. But still.
Asking a girl her name at the door is also not really necessary or required This is more of an issue stemming from fake pics galore. I would only ask if the girl is completely different from descriptions in reviews etc. Then again, typically I know who rooms in the apartment before I enter it. Most of the time when I ask them about their roommate I already know..
Finally I'd point out that there is nothing suspicious about "lurking" with phones out inside or outside in 2026.
Here's a fun exercise. Go to a large apartment complex where you know for a fact there are no korgs or orgs of any kind. Now take notes of every male loitering with a phone outside and inside (well, get inside by following someone in lol). You might be surprised by what you might find.
