Unlike in the US, don't waste your time trying to line up an escort in Amsterdam. Simply go "window shopping" down by the canals, and you will have your choice of as many as 1400 women -all sitting in window booths in the "red light district" --yes with red lights over them -which is down by the canals. They are available for quickies -but if you find one you like, you work out a deal for more. Definitely the way to go. Enjoy.

The only drawback is the number of people in the streets watching as you make your choice and go in and out.

Its group fun on some levels, but not if you're working a trade show and have no idea who maybe standing there when you come out.

Personally, i found late afternoon selection wonderful, the atmosphere more relaxed, and certainly more private.

The first couple of times I did sort of slink out, but after a few more times, I figured; "what the hell, that's what the ladies are here for".  Besides, I was halfway round the world from home and the chances of seeing someone I knew were nil.

This all depends upon your budget.  If you're on a beer budget, then by all means cruise the windows. Kind of a reverse-streetwalker experience. And if you're in the evening, you may even get a cheap high from all the folks smoking legal weed in the alleys.  

If your budget is more expansive, consider one of the sex clubs (brothels).


On a champagne budget, you might visit the Yab Yum club.

I saw a lovely Czech blonde, in a window, but off of the red light district. In fact, she was only a few blocks from the B and B I was staying at.

Saw a very nice blonde Australian lady at Societe Anoyme, a brothel near the Rijjks(sic?)mueseum.

A dam itself, the central core area of the city, is not that big, so take some comfortable walking shoes. The city is worth exploring on foot. MfSD.
