They are "vouching" for you in exactly the same way a review vouches for them.
In other words, if you want to see a new provider and you're trying to satisfy her screening needs, you can say you've been white listed, so the new provider doesn't have to put herself or you through the time or trouble of emailing or calling other providers for references - the references have already been given, nothing more to do.
On the other hand it means your real name and other personal information is "out there". And you wouldn't be very happy if your real name was posted on our boards.
just to ellaborate; when you are whitelisted only your TER handle is whitelisted. There is NO personal info. I usually whitelist gentleman that I've seen that I would recommend to other gals and I laways ask them if it's ok if I whitelist them. This a great feature of this board just like Haley said "it's easier to verify". Basically it's a courtesy....Hugs JoJo
As I said before, same concept as DateC and P411. The whole purpose of whitelisting and sites like those are to keep the provider from having to ever see the client's info - how then does it not follow that the whole point of whitelisting is a referral method that protects anonyminity?
Can I just say that the paranoia that persists regarding a reputable provider having a client's info, anyway, fails to take into account that if the person behind the ad were someone out to do you harm, they wouldn't ask you for ANY info, including where you're whitelisted. First, she wouldn't want to chance spooking someone away from coming over to get caught in the web, and second, fishing your info out of your pocket will be no trouble for her buddies that will be on hand, ready to come in on cue. The vast majority of hobbyists who do have trouble will have trouble because they stumbled into a low rent no screening situation, not because they went to see a reputable provider who screens for her own and your, yes your, safety.
Of course there are the providers who have lives that aren't exactly ethical or discreet or cautious, and in their hands you might get that out of nowhere call during dinner with the family months from now, or any of the other kinds of things that can happen when you see providers whose posts will generally be your first hint that they aren't exactly ethical or discreet or cautious (a hint that you should remember later if you choose to ignore it now because the pics are just too hot or the promises too good to be true).
"Of course there are the providers who have lives that aren't exactly ethical or discreet or cautious, and in their hands you might get that out of nowhere call during dinner with the family months from now, or any of the other kinds of things that can happen".......
Very true and that's why I'm so careful about who I see in the first place. I tend to pick mature ladies and one reason is that they understand the seriousness of this "hobby" and they are not loose with what little personal information I may volunteer. Just as most of you are careful with whom you choose to see, most of us guys are the same way.....
I only have posted 5 reviews (although an early one for the famous "Helen" just could never get approved) but I have seen far more ladies than just 5, many from TER.
Since you say that you don't submit many reviews and don't post much on TER, you may not be aware that your handle is VERY similar to a very high profile, well respected member of TER that goes by ... mrfisher. Search the Newbie or General Discussion board.
Also, he has reviewed your whitelist girl from New Mexico. Two and Two together ... She thinks she has white-listed the other Fisher.
Not sure what you want to do about it. You may try contacting her and pointing it out. She could then remove her white-listing of you, and be a little more careful in using "mrfisher's" exact handle to white-list him.
By the way, I have to admit, when I first saw you posting here, I thought you were intentionally trying to "draft" off of the other Fisher's name recognition. I am glad to see I was apparently mistaken.
Since I'm virtually unknown, perhaps I ought to just go ahead and change my screen name to end any possible confusion. We'll see....... and thanks for your comments....
