This webpage was sent to me by a friend I sometimes go shooting with and it got me to thinking.

How many of you, ladies in particular, are firearms enthusiasts?
How many like to go to the range and shoot?

I have known a few ladies over the years who have enjoyed shooting but never went to the range with any of them.

What would your reaction be to someone who was interested in a multi-hour date with a range trip as part of the time?

This isn't meant as a pro-gun, anti-gun discussion, I was just curious.

There is something very sexy about a beautiful women with a gun...LOL

I am not an enthusiast per-se, but several years ago my ex-husband was teaching me to shoot.  Then he lost interest.  I own some guns and would love to learn how to use them properly.  I watch the show "Top Shot" every week, and would love to learn marksmanship.

Your suggestion of a multi-hour date including going to a gun range sounds very appealing to me!

I am an avid firearms enthusiast and have a concealed weapon permit. I love to go to the range and shoot. When I lived in Vegas, there were actual "Meet & Greet" type events at the range. Once a month a few ladies and gentlemen would get together and go to the range, then out for drinks. Definitely a great idea for a date. There may be a few ladies that are not firearm enthusiasts and may not like the idea. Make sure you know the lady pretty well before you ask as it may come across scary coming from someone new wanting to go to the range...lol...

(As a note, even though your post did not want to go there, hopefully the Sanford incident will not effect the laws as they stand. The Castle Doctrine is clearly not applicable in that incident even though some officials are trying to make it apply. It is a shame that random acts of violence by unstable, mentally deranged people may effect the rights of all American citizens.)

And like the vast majority of CWP holders, I don't carry to look for a fight. I carry to protect myself and my loved ones.

Using a weapon should always be a last, final option. Even though you have a legal right to defend yourself, when it's possible, the best option is to retreat, get out of the situation and call for help. However, if all else fails, defend yourself and your loved ones to the full extent of the law. That includes using deadly force, if necessary.

As a civilian, I have never fired a weapon in anger. I pray I never have to.
But, I can, and will, defend myself, my loved ones, and anyone in a life threatening situation, if necessary.

Now, to keep this in line with the forum's premise, one of these days, I'll have to come over to see you and we can go shooting...

Its probably a good idea to keep the order straight.. Range and then Drinks and not have the drinks and theniu go to the range.

Does this add a complete body frisk to your inperson screening?

And on a serious note.. Florida is one of a few states that have extended the "castle doctrine" by allowing residents to shoot someone they feel is an imminent threat anywhere -- in your home, car or outside.

Twenty three other states have "Stand Your Ground" laws like Florida's.

It sounds like a very different date and an enjoyable one for a lady who likes guns.

All my families homes in Tenn have many guns in their homes. They hunt and also need to have protection since they live in very desolate areas. I have actually stayed by myself a few times and was scared as hell that those guns could be used against me since I wouldn't know how to use them. In every bedside table there's a revolver but a lot of good that would do me.

For the longest time I feared have a gun around but now if someone asked it would be a welcome invitation.

Kisses Haley

I have been a firearm enthusiast for many years and go to the range several times a month.  As a matter of fact, I am missing the gun show in Lauderdale today, cause I am in the Carolina's.   I shoot with a couple of old timers that exclaim that it sucks for them that I shoot their weapons better than they shoot them...lmao.  I own a couple of revolvers and applied for  my permit last year... I carry!   I love going to the range, but ladies, be careful wearing those low cut tops!!!!  I have had many hot shells fly down my cleavage leaving blisters.   Ouch!!!!
A range date sounds smokin sexy..... Is that a pistol in your pocket?????

I too enjoy the shooting range! However I've spent more time shooting out in the boonies in VA LOL. Have shot 6 different weapons and find that I enjoy the rifles and smaller guns the best.
BTW Sobeslave that was funny about drinking after going to the rifle range and not before LMAO!

Well I love to shoot!
I have shot everything from machine guns, to shot guns, plain rifles, .23, 9mm, .45 and just love the smell.
I just got my perfect heart shot/bullseye a few weeks ago.
My son actually hung the target up in his room-he was so proud of me!!
I am great at shooting the head off but just would always get in the heart target but not perfect-anyway-to answer your question-sign me up-I am a member of two range clubs here in Florida!!!!!!!
Can I mod answer if I am allowed to post my picture my son took with my perfect shot?
