I am listening tp this song while typing and feel a loss of someone who was so beautiful. I was lucky to see her once in concert years ago in her early career.

How about a tribute to her music right now so everyone can listen to their favorites. Put your link to her favorite song of yours or performance. Under the link note that their is sound and song location. While writing you can listen to her music

I use to love the weekly favorite song thread myself and listened to music I normally wouldn't have. I hope after this someone takes the idea a step further and takes over the duties of selecting a day and make it their addition to the TER experience here on the Florida Board.

Dude . . . bro . . . I think Haley is right . . .

Every now and then somebody famous dies and it is like the culture shifts and will never be the same again because so many people felt a connection with the deceased.  I was pretty young when Elvis died, but i vaguely remember that lots of adults were really affected. I was in school when Kurt Cobain killed himself; althought I was not a fan (I was more partial to Pearljam), many of my fellow students were fans, and they were deeply afftected.  I was in still school when Jerry Garcia died and although not a "deadhead" I did enjoy the some of the music of the GD, so I was affected by his passing and so were many others.

Althougn not a Whitney Houston fan, I can remember in the early days of MTV watching some of her videos on MTV.  Although I never went out and bought any of her albums or tapes (yes I am that old) it was clear that she was gifted with a voice that was one in a million.  Clearly she was a talented singer, and she had legions of fans.

So once again, an extremely talented artist, who touched the lives of millions, has passed, and the culture will never be quite the same again.  I think an event that momentous deserves at least a passing mention, even here, even if it is slightly off topic.

Peace Out.
/s/ A.H.

There aren't that many people on the board right now either yet all of a sudden so many reads.  Glad you came to complain as is your right.

...on more than one occasion, I'm sure we have all been laid with this lady singing in the background.  There.

Not an approiate thread for ter my fat ass.

This is a regional discussion board about people and how they feel about things.  There is really no other place for comments about people.  We have been commenting about how people look (IMHO more clothing can be sexier than less or none), administration policies, what is an ad or not, and probably a half dozen other thing that have nothing to do with "reviews" (which is part of the title of this place).

Haley's job here is to provide different topics for discussion.  She is doing a thanksless job in the opinions of some of you.

For those of you that critized, what do you think we should be discussing?

Whitney Houston's best performance was in 1991 singing the National Anthem.  It was probably one of the best rendition's of the Anthem.

and with Valentines this coming week many will think of her music and a special sensual memories. Not everybody likes head banger music but it has it's place to I guess. Some of the best orgasms I have had are with her music playing in the background and i'm sure others have done the same.

For those who celebrate Valentines with music share that song and don't allow others to take away the diversity of of choices that should or shouldn't be posted here.

she was an addict of lots of stuff, not all good.  My personal opinion is that tributes should be on nationwide forums, not local ones.  Hammer me if you will, but I'm entitled to my opinion, just as Haley is.  She wasted her talent and life on her addictions, and in case you hadn't figured it out, I'm not very tolerant of people who do that.  They make millions off of us and then throw it away for drugs and/or booze.  And we're supposed to feel sad?????  Sorry, not me.

but if someone else had posted it I would have chimed in on the conversation with my own view just as you. We all have a point of view here and that's what makes this board or any board interesting.

No conversation, then no one needs to come.

Swim please get involved with the board and post something for others to get involved with. I'm not sure what is expected of me but getting attacked is no fun.

The song I posted kinda voiced some of what you said. "I'm changed" yet nothing really changed for her. The difference is my sympathy for what she must of felt to go down the road she chose.  I have seen many friends at loss with a child on drugs. Child, they are 30's and 40"s yet find some comfort in doing drugs. I don't understand that myself and have gone the tough love route in my family

I would have said what I said no matter who posted it.

Like you, I am a host of the newbie board, and I have yet to hear what Admin expects me to do.  I have continued to reply to posts and offer help to anyone that posts there.  Being the host/hostess of a regional board is something I have no clue about.  I was the mod of the Ohio boards, but have not been asked to be the host there.  Hell, I'm still waiting for access to the new Host & Hostess board, and the Mod board is closed.

Please let me know if you hear anything from admin about what hosts/hostesses are spsd to do and if you get access to the H/H board, and I will do same for you.

I have no qualms at any constructive criticism and every bit of help I can get. You know how I feel but you have been a moderator before. My experience is time spent on the over 60 board.

I didn't think you attacked me in any way

TER voiced wanting change and opening up a more friendly environment for new people to join in. I'm doing things here the way it worked on the other board I post on. Your opening up conversation not putting me down. I'm glad you said what you did so we could air our own views and why.

While I absolutely love Whitney and am deeply disturbed by her loss, this truly has nothing to do with TER and why we are all here...JMHO...

It is very easy to attack and many of us have expressed a concern that some of the changes that have occurred would bring on MORE drama and not eliminate it.  I think it is up to those of us who love what TER represents to insure the drama is kept to a minimum.  We all have different opinions and different purposes for being a member here.  However when we dig to the very bottom of the pile it is about enjoying the hobby.  With that said where are the naked ladies!  :)  getting down off my orange crate LOL no soap box GRIN

Thanks "Rock" for your kind words. I can only do what others agree to and no more.

I said I am a nobody amongst so many but you bet my voice will be heard. Guess that's why I'm here with my name in red because I have no different talents that others couldn't duplicate easily. Mu guts to say what's on my mind can be a curse at times.

Take a post on the Chicago Board:
"I gave her music as a gift to a Provider years ago. RIP Whitney" Seemed pertinent when I read it. *shrug*

Read or don't read. If you don't like the thread....move on.

Personally, there is a TER relevance.....I think back to The Bodyguard. Growing up in the 60's in the south, interracial relationships were a no no. But who wouldn't love to have been Kevin Costner!!!!

I just discovered chocolate a couple of years ago. Changed my life. Whitney was at the top of my wish list even before that discovery. Too bad we lost her.
