Theme days are fine, but I'm not in on the drama. I would like a participation thread daily to get to know everyone better also. Sarah's thread a few weeks back about getting to know people was a perfect example. I originally thought how dumb and dead it would be, but came back for days trying to get to know everyone. The 60 and over board has "caption this" photos and the responses are hilarious. I seem to draw more crickets than anything else while starting a thread, but I'm no comic either! I will endorse Elle in any effort to "bring sexy back". Please participate EVERYONE. This board in this place should be about getting to know each other and setting up this hobby to succeed both for the ladies and gents.

I'm just a lurker on the Florida board, but it used to be the bet board on TER and my favorite place to visit.  It's not anymore.  In an effort to be a "good lurker", I too, will help Elle in her attempt to revitalize the Florida board.

Elle -- if you get it started, I'll contribute.

I would like to see threads on great places to meet for adventures.  Hotels with big tubs, floor to ceiling windows, romantic swimming pools, ect.  Destinations off the beaten path with weblinks.  Common people, this board is not for grippy unless there really is an issue to convey.  

A couple of my favorites:  
1. Mayfair Hotel - great rooms with spa tubs and pool deck on the roof;
2. Executive Airport Hotel - sure it's cheesy, but can be different than the chain hotel in that you can role play that your shooting an amateur video and you're the star;
3. Skinny dipping - Florida is blessed with miles of beaches and if you're careful and plan ahead you can have quite the adventure in a night time swim, sans clothes...

idea where this drama is. Honestly, if I saw it here it might be more exciting to visit once in a while! Lol! No- I am kidding.

But seriously- aside from "in search of" threads and the photo threads, nothing else goes on here for days. On the GB you get more participation, but the caliber of the conversational topics ranges from pretty mundane to down right mean. Any other threads that are actually interesting and make me think get filled with mean men calling other men "manginas". Yawn. I participated on the P&R board for a while, but again, people get mean and nasty really fast.

I am usually afraid to post topics here because they get moved or someone might complain that they have no place on a review board. I posted a book thread once, and that was moved. I have also been chased off of someone else's thread (fair enough, it's a business). But this place in general hasn't been entirely conducive to any real conversation.

Nonetheless I will keep coming back and hoping! Elle, at least you've started a conversation! Yay!

I see every other man as a competitor for the affections of women, well....except maybe a gay man. But in competition, you often succeed by learning from your competitors, and even helping them succeed and setting up loose "alliances". Crush them only when they are standing directly in front of you, then offer them a hand in getting back up. You will then have competition that you understand better and already know you can beat at your specific talent, or in the case of a loss, you learn even more about the competition and how to better compete or avoid another loss.

I book an appointment, show up on time, drop an envelope, have fun, leave.
Competition isn't part of the equation unless some other dude wants to book the same time. Then it's up to the gal to decide who "wins". LOL

"Competition" is a waste of time and energy.
In this world...there is none. You just schedule dates and have fun.
In the 'real' world......confidence is knowing that you have no competition.

The competition statement was for everyday, everyone. Just a generalization. Do you play or watch any sports? Do you groom yourself to look as good as you can?
Maybe this "world" isn't really you and you transform into a non competitor, but your comments often suggest otherwise. A few weeks ago, you were supposed to bust a drink over HookerCops's head at the Tampa meeting and that sort of suggests a competitive nature, no?
That isn't a bad thing so don't go all postal about it, you also had some pretty competitive things to say about the dipshit that robbed Sindie, and you got my support and applause.
Confidence is knowing you will defeat the competition, foolishness is denying there is any.

Im going to check it out..so i can plan and be there..and like I said before...if there anything I can help with.....will be my pleasure.       About competition...it iss good until certain level....you can br competitive evem with yourself and try to improve evryday......)))) .when something is not healthy or stream...that can become a problem......like everything in life...we need to have a balance       kisses and see you soon.

in recent months.  The P&R board was always a somewhat volatile place but has recently been taken over by a pair of raging a**holes that have made it impossible for any real, mature and adult discussion and conversation.

The regional boards seem to be more robotic than in the past and have lost some of their "oomph."

I applaud Elle for trying to instigate something with hopes of injecting some life, some fun and some humor into the Florida board.  I have to admit that I, myself, have not been as active on the board as of late and will try to participate more. Can't say that time has been a reason for me since I gained some well-needed time when I abandoned the out-of-control P&R board some months back.

Let's face it, drama can be bad for the boards but we all know that we sometimes use it as a "guilty pleasure" and enjoy the occasional "train wreck."  That being said, in the long run the drama does not enhance the board nor does it drive meaningful participation.

Sarah, I hope you keep posting and that your posts don't get moved around so much.  I for one have appreciated your input and have enjoyed the thought-producing topics you have introduced.

Oh, and while I love some of the theme day pics, I agree that the whole topic may have run its course and been watered down by "overexposure."  Of course, I mean "overexposure" in the non-clothing sense!  lol
