So I've been in Orlando all week on business, staying at one of the nicer hotels on I-Drive.  Apparently this is a bad thing if you are trying to meet anyone.  I got off work early today, and tried to set up a last-minute outcall w/ a very well reviewed provider (I have no transportation while I am here) and first got no further than "outcall" and the name of the hotel, and she started swearing at me (told me to go F-myself) and hung up.  Then her scheduler called back (although it sounded an AWFUL lot like the original girl) and, in a much calmer manner, said that I had picked the wrong city to visit and, even worse, the wrong hotel to stay at because UC LE were all over the place just waiting to bust providers and, potentially, hobbyists.  We talked for a while to try to put her and me at ease, but it didn't really help.  This is not a rant against the girl - I don't fault her for a high level of caution particularly since I'm in her city and she knows the lay of the land a lot better than I do.  But, I know I'm not LE (and am DC verified w/ references to prove it), but this girl has now made me very very paranoid to the point where I told her not to worry about the appointment because I didn't feel like getting busted at the hotel.  Am I being too paranoid or is Orlando really that bad?  I come from up north where we don't seem to have this level of paranoia and suspicion.  Sucks too cuz, after being slammed busy all week, I finally had some time today to relax.

As verifying references does take time. Sorry you had such bad luck but next time pre-book and save yourself the headache.

I think, but I am not 100% sure, that I read a post or two about a week ago about a huge LE sting in Orlando.  Can't remember if it was on TER or one of the other hobby boards.  Anyway, good luck and hope you find someone to have fun with.

I totally agree that pre-planning is the way to go.  In my home city, I'm a big believer in it.  Here, unfortunately, the opportunities seem to arise unexpectedly.  That said, it wasn't the screening that concerned me - I have no problem with that.  I only see verified providers myself, and I have no issue with a provider taking as long as she needs to screen me (this one, BTW, has now looked at my DC profile about 15 times in the last couple of hours).  What I was really wondering about was the LE presence in Orlando and whether it is as tight as it seems based on the provider's phone call.  If there have been recent busts, I guess I get it, but she didn't even let me get to the point of telling her that I had verification and references - at least not initially.  Still looking for tonight though.  Last night in town and here's hoping ....

Orlando is one of the easiest cities to play in.
I-Drive is one of the easiest and best areas.
In 4 years I've never heard of a well reviewed, independent lady getting popped in Orlando.

Yes, there were arrests recently. But *again* it was streetwalkers and BackPage girls who usually work out of motels. Lower level, easy to snag, fruit.
That doesn't stop the paranoid Chicken-Little types from having a freakout-fest every time a meth-head streetwalker gets popped. All of a sudden it's "Oh no...there's cops *everywhere*....they're coming to get us".
Pah-lease.

Sorry this happened to you. Hope you find someone a little more reasonable and accommodating than your first try.

I think there is a post someplace about things you don't ask or say? If not them maybe she is off center a little.

about last minute...most well reviewed ladies will not take last minute appts. unless quicker screening (like being on one of the verification sites with references) is possible. I understand for you that is and was possible.

I am sorry that you got blasted on the phone...that was truly not polite and someone I would definitely avoid at all costs.

While there has been some busts around here, like DD said, no one well known.  Us well known girls who do screen know what we are doing. Trust me as well, there are stings all over the place all the time. No one city is off the list...most you don't hear about anyway..

Please don't be paranoid to the point that you don't enjoy your stay or try again when you come back. As long as you stick with well reviewed ladies you are pretty safe.

My only recommendation, like what was already said, is best to pre-plan. Even if 24 hrs. notice.

I hope things work out for you while in O town..

do some research ahead of time. Anytime I visit a new city, I compile a short list of providers I'd like to spend time with should the opportunity for "free time" present itself. I would go ahead and get pre-screened so I would be set should the opportunity arise.

Sorry you had a bad experience with ONE provider in Orlando. There are many well-reviewed independent ladies in O-Town who, with proper planning, could have made your visit very relaxing.

My assailant is pretty quick with my screening. However, sometimes I'm busy with family and friends and  would need a few hours notice, and have no issue with an outcall as long as the hotel is. 3 + star and up.

Sucks that you went through such an experience but if you read the news...don't be so surprised.
Many hobbyists are even resorting to providing false information, bypassing the screening process, creating panic everywhere...rates are going to rise evenually due to the high cost of screening, etc...it looks not too good.
