This is a new thread, because I don’t want the responses to get all jumbled up with the ongoing theme day discussion.

I’ll admit that I wasn’t around for the original Hobbyist Mondays….so I have no point of reference as to how they worked out, or were accepted.

My only thoughts on the subject are this:
On face value, I really can’t see how this works out well.
For every guy who gets a shout-out from a provider….there’s going to be several who feel slighted at the same time.
Guys who fancy themselves, and their “relationship” with the lady as “special”.
Then the lady gets PMs and emails from whiny guys wanting to know why “it wasn’t me”.
Let’s just be completely honest here and say what isn’t said………that some of these guys are more fragile than any female will ever be…..and their egos enormous. They need this fantasy to bolster their own screwed-up self esteem. They’re the ones who are constantly bombarding ladies with emails, PMs, phone calls (aka WASTING the ladies’ time) and convincing themselves that this is some kind of “real” dating thing……and what “they” have…..is different than everyone else.
That’s all well and good…..but I’d just hate to see shout-outs to guys eventually causing problems.

As for me…..I’d prefer to be excluded from any post of this type (not assuming I’d ever be included).
I value my privacy, and anything I do is between me and whoever I spend my time with.
I don’t need the ego boost of being called out publicly…….or having anyone else know what I do…..unless I choose to make it public.
If a lady thinks I’m not a total douchenozzle….and I get the occasional email or PM….that means more than any public posting.
I believe in the privacy and anonymity that this endeavor is based on.

Again…these are just observations from someone who wasn’t around to see the original days, and how it panned out.
Other opinions and views welcomed.

I’ll allow the posts for now….and we’ll just see how it transpires.

And I agree with DD, it can only bring disappointment.  DD is right, guys have fragile egos, and if our fave ladies don't nominate us, I can see some very upset guys.  I know she thinks I'm ok if she accepts a second date with me, I don't need to be compared with the rest of you guys out there in hobby-land.

In short, I think it's a bad idea too.

Well, all I can say is, at least YOU will have a chance to ANSWER them.

way too much and digging way too deep into this.

It is just a simple wrinkle on the theme days to add a little fun to the board.  

After all, this is a HOBBY, not life or death.  And HOBBIES are supposed to be fun and enjoyable.

Toni, I look forward to your first post on Monday.  And, don't worry, I won't be needing counseling on any Tuesday just because I wasn't mentioned on a Monday . . . . .

It was light, fun and a good time.  Ladies shouted out to guys they had recently seen or flirted with guys they wanted to see.  There were no hurt feelings (even though I never got mentioned, not even once dammit).  Guys were never called out in a bad way, just like provider Friday.

More importantly, it gave a chance for the ladies to connect with guys they had not seen.

Listen, we all know we are fat, old, nasty looking guys.  We are not going to be offended by not being mentioned by a provider one day a week.

Only if you like to have rancor on the board.  Rancor turns me off.

I doubt I will participate but hey...
never say never right?
