My heart is heavy today because Roxy, my little Min Pin friend is gone. She was my constant companion and friend for 10 years. She rode with me in the car, slept at my feet, went shopping with me (sitting comfortably in an shoulder bag) watch TV , sometimes sing her favorite song was WHO let the dogs..lol and went for walks on the beach with me.
Some of you may have met her when you visited me. Many did not. Among other things, Roxy was good at hiding. But when I needed her, she was always there for me.
Sadly, the years caught up with her, and she was becoming weaker. The Vet told me her heart was failing, and the most I could do was make her comfortable. I made the Painful choice to put her to peaceful sleep instead of continuing her life simply to make myself feel better. It was a hard choice, but I am glad she is in a better place.
Whatever each of you believes about God and a life after this one, I will tell you this: If there is anything after this life, Roxy is there now, playing, barking sleeping, and I hope she is waiting patiently for her "Mommy" to join her. I hope to see her again - but not just yet. Most of you knows how hard this is...Just feel I need to share my sad story ..Thank you
I have been thru what you went thru with my ol' buddy Kingfish the cat. After 13 years with him, I had to make the most painful decision to let him go to pussycat heaven. He's there waiting for me. I still miss him too.
I am so sorry for your loss. I don't even what to imagine what you are going through but I know that God is watching over your beautiful puppy and Roxy is in good hands.
....there is nothing like the unconditional love that a pet gives us. Your Baby is Beautiful and in a Much better place without pain and suffering. God must have needed another MinPin in Heaven and your baby was chosen.
Mine baby puppy is 16 years old, and she too is staring to show the signs of age. I can only accept this as reality and enjoy every second I can with her.
Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, For no heart in all the world is more rateful for kindness than the loving heart of me. Do not break my spirit with a stick, For though I should lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn. Speak to me often, For your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footsteps fall upon my ears. Please take me inside when it is cold and wet, For I am a domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to the bitter elements. I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Keep my pan filled with water, for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger. And, my friend, when I am very old, and I no longer enjoy good health, hearing and good sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep me going. I am not having fun. Please see that my trusting life is taken gently. I shall leave this earth knowing with the last breath I drew, that my fate was always safest in your hand.
In the cooler months we did go to the Beach at Boca Inlet...She made many people Happy Kids just couldn't get enough of her.....That Beautiful place It never going to be the same
In the last few years I myself have lost 2 very dear pets...both were as well Min Pins (Grandma and Grandson). Anyone who has or have had a pet understands your pain. I also chose when my babies got sick to put them down myself. Yes it was hard, but I couldn't stand seeing them each suffer.
I hope and pray that this poem gives you some peace. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. Below is my precious little one that I have now...we both send our thoughts of love and compassion to you!!!
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Having put down many dogs over the years I know how you feel, if you talk to someone that isn't a pet lover they will never understand how someone could care so much for a animal. They say all pets go to the rainbow bridge when the die, I look forward to seeing all my dogs again someday.
