It's a woman's Responsibility to Know what she wants/needs for pleasure in this sensitive area.
It's a woman's Responsibility to Speak Up and tell her partner what she wants.

Seriously, some guys think they are "Gods gift to women" and they fall far short.  But, many of the providers I have visited take the position that it is all about the client and it is her responsibility to satisfy body along with his fragile ego.  Personally I would much prefer a truly mutually pleasurable time with a woman and both parties need to discuss the what and how that involved.  Guys should look forward to learning from their partners, but that would require them to listen first.   I believe the responsibility issue goes both ways, or should.  You sound like you told him and he did not listen so in my opinion you did the right thing.  I have always felt there should be a client rating system (there probably is I just do not know of it) that had the following factors.
1. Is he clean
2. Does he play safely by the rules
3. Is he on time
4. Is it all about him, or does he encourage mutual play
5. Can he listen and respond appropriately.
6. Does he treat you respectfully.
7. Is he reasonable to look at.
8. Would you actually want to see him again.
