Men have a different fantasy process from women. Whereas women fantasise at least partly about their regular partners, focussing on the "journey" not the "arrival", men tend to fantasise about almost anyone they meet on the way, with the emphasisis on novelty and a big climax. According to most surveys, the biggest recorded difference between men and women is "making love in a romantic setting" which 15 per cent of women do in fantasies compared to only four per cent of men.
