I'm very excited to be visiting Miami for the first time at the end of the month! However, I know almost nothing about the city other than it's 50+ degrees warmer than NYC right now.

I would love to hear some recommendations about the best areas to stay. I did a search but didn't come up with anything. I'm looking for places that are safe, accessible, as well as walking distance to the beach. General neighborhoods are great, as are specific hotel recommendations through PM or email.
