Has anyone else noticed something changed? The appearance scores are now only visible with VIP access. In my opinion, this was a good choice. Although, I'd rather have appearance and performance scores visible for all.

Thank you TER!

the resident troll must not have too much traffic on the intercoastal today.  I tried to post this earlier and was told a topic thread had already been started....hmmmmmm, maybe on page 3 NOT on page 1.

Just love the inconsistancies.  Anyways this was not an unexpected occurance.

;-) In case you missed it......all numbers are now in VIP land

This kind of makes sense...anyone can look at a prospective ladies web site and judge appearance anyways, so that number was meaningless.  Now the big question is: Will the TER bottom line increase or will people just fade away?  ;-)

I used to be a VIP, lost my job several months ago. Mainly a lurker now, just want to stay in touch until things improve.

I do know the way TER works however, nothing more than a 7 for CBJ, or no kissing. So the Numbers did help me somewhat, even though I haven't seen anyone in several months.

It's their ballgame, and if that's how they want to run it, fine by me.

When my personal situation improves, I'll be back to VIP but in the meantime, this site doesn't offer much.

P.S. I can now see why there are SO many misspellings etc. as you really don't have a chance to use this like Word to make corrections.

When you start out free and want to charge customers later, it seldom works out. It also gives competition a chance to dethrone you.

This is pretty much how it works in all other businesses, why would it be different for TER?

I would rather TER do away with Free VIP for reviews. It would curtail fake reviews a bit.

I have always pay for mine since I don't have time to write reviews that much. Writing reviews is also against my rule of keeping the hobby discrete.

....(say, 1 every 6 months min.)to have access to All discussion boards, other than the newbie board for newbies. same w/ladies, they have to have reviews to post on the discusion boards, but all still get their 1 week add.

give something back to the review pool, instead of only taking. you can still lurk on the boards, & read reviews, you get that benifit, which is the most important of all anyway.

maybe when you initially sigh up to TER, you get 4 -8 hrs. free to check out site, then it expires & you pay to play.

Why do you feel it is a good choice to make the scores only visible to VIP?

For me as a potential customer, the tease gave me enough interest to want to go to VIP status. I am thinking less tease = less interest.

Why do you think it is a good idea?

As I stated in my message, I 'prefer' for both the appearance and performance numbers to be available to ALL. However, I think that it's unfair to make the appearance score visible and block out the performance score.

As for me, my appearance score is very good along with my performance score....so, it doesn't make a big difference. However, there are many ladies out there with high performance numbers and mediocre appearance scores. Therefore, if the only score showing is appearance....they're going to be passed over!

In my opinion, to keep it fair, if their going to block out one number...block them both. Again, I would prefer ALL be visible.

Hope this answers your question.

Simply because there are many providers who do not post face pics on their sites.
I understand TER does this to try to make more $$$, which is fine, but I guarantee you it will cost providers money in the long run.
Think about it, if a provider doesn't show her face, but gets consistent 8-10s on the appearance rating, guys who aren't going to pay for TER would be FAR more likely to give them a try than they will be now.
Ladies, you need to press this issue.

The numbers gave me a little idea, but wasn't what I really wanted to know. I originally got the VIP to be able to see the services portion of the profile. It didn't take long for me to see the value of the VIP, as the numbers often didn't match what I was looking for as far as services.
While I'm being so agreeable, I think GJ has a great idea.  There are too many, that won't write a review for various reasons. I didn't either at first, but my hobbying was very sporatic, and I also did not participate on the boards.

To these guys who say they won't write a review, because it's part of the discression of the meeting...I say......Patoooey!!! LOL
You'll hobby off of our indiscressions but won't give back!

I guess, in the end, this whole discussion is really meaningless to those of us who have been paying members all along.  Nothing has changed for us, only for the lurkers.

How this affects TER's bottom line is not my concern, and I really don't care. It's their business, and their decisions.....until the day they ask me to cough up more money for MY VIP!  LOL  ;-)

I don't like how everything can only be viewed by VIP. It was alright when just the juicy details and services provided were VIP only, which I understand. Then they started doing the performance numbers, and now the overall looks. Heck I remember when one can their private mailbox without being VIP, now you can't even PM anyone.
What I don't understand is that there is virtually no difference in being a standard member and a non member. If you sign up for TER, you still only can view what a non member can. You have no choice but to be a VIP member.
Now the site is pretty much useless except for viewing the boards and posting. TashaVegas makes a good point in this being a good way to increase the amount of fake reviews. Before one can just glance at some number ratings or PM a person who had seen the provider and get a good idea. It is like if you have a mouse in a maze with many exit options. What TER has done is block all exits except one, the mouse is forced to go one way. Or if you made smoking illegal.
Anyone who knows me knows I put up valid reviews. But it's not like I see a provider every 2 weeks.
What next...board posting and viewing. Uh oh...better keep my mouth shut.

I think you make a great point. But for those who don't post a lot of reviews, TER wants us to pay. The point of this has very little to do with TER getting better reviews or what not. They want more paid members; which I will never do because I do not want the site to have my personal information.

Ok I am pretty much a lurker, but I am a vip lurker.  The only reason I became a vip was the double ratings, looks and performance.  It gave you more information than any of the other services with out paying, so when I wanted more information of course I went with the one that was treating me better and went vip on my dime not on the free reviews. I think TER is making a bad marketing  as decision now they are like the rest by not giving any usefull information.

if you are running a site like this...or any site where revenue generation is a main goal.

The problem that TER has is very very common in all types or marketing...they are FORGETTING what it's like to be their customer, or potential customer. It is WAY too common to see things only from 'your' point of view and totally miss what it's like to be your potential customer.

Hiding the numbers is short sighted and a big mistake. This is something that can be debated ad nauseum and really doesn't matter...cause it's not our site...LOL. Respectfully...TER is making SO many marketing mistakes it's amazing, and they will not see their numbers grow. I say this only because...internet marketing is what I do for a living. Knowing how customers think, feel, and react determines how much $$ I make...and business is good.

One of the first things they should focus on is letting people know that they can join WITHOUT giving up all their personal information. Not only are they dealing with people who might consider joining...but you've got who knows how many people already here...who think "They want more paid members; which I will never do because I do not want the site to have my personal information."
And that's from someone who has already BEEN using the site.

Trust me...what numbers show to VIP only is one of their smallest issues.

Just sayin'

Most ladies have the gentlemen come here to check their reviews out. Most of these gentlemen are new and have never been on this site.

If these gentlemen get nothing they won't come back. The numbers are the tease or the bait and the juicy reviews and services get them hooked. If you have no bait the fish won't bite.

I think the whole thing will backfire. This will help the rip-off girls but it does nothing for the $20 I spend on VIP.

... you hit the nail on the head regarding their need for increased generation of revenue.

When one removes the providers who have the limited VIP that allows them to see their own reviews and get PM's (non revenue generating) and remove the guys who have VIP status through their submitting of reviews (again, non revenue generating), I think we would all be surprised by the small percentage of people who use the site who actually pay for it.

To me the real problem though goes far beyond that.  As I look at the top of this page, I see there are just over 59,000 total reviews.  I wondered how many of those were actually good.

I ran a sample for Tampa and asked TER to list all the ladies (no transsexuals) with at least one review listed.  I got just under 1,400 ladies.

I then asked the filter to remove all those with bad web sites.  Now the number came back at slightly more than 500.

I then asked the filter to remove all those with only one review.  The remaining number (providers with good web sites and at least 2 reviews) came back at less than 400.

Of the supposed 1400 reviews for the Tampa area, only about 30% of them are valid and current.

I think we all have seen the drastic decrease in the number of reviews that are being posted.  Their need to generate more reviews goes hand in hand with the revenue problem.

TER offers a service.  If you like it and feel it is worth it - you buy it - if not you don't.  Personaly, I opt to pay for the VIP side of it.  In my opinion you can't do too much research before selecting a lady for companionship and I have spent a tremendous amount of time researching here and elsewhere.  It still isn't infallable even then.  I have noticed a side benefit of VIP in that some VIP hobbyists will converse between each other "under the radar" candidly and exchange valuable information without "blowing ones cover" to the world.  Hey, if you participate in this endeavour, having ccBill on your statement isn't going to make a hill of beans difference toward your chance of being "discovered/exposed".

They are only thinking about trying to get more paid members by limiting what you can see when in fact they may get less because the site is less accessible. Had I not been able to see looks and performance when I first found the site, I doubt I'd be using it so frequently today.
