Ok so i recently joined TER and am officially a newbie here. I posted some boards and really like the site. The other day i left a review for a provider a few days later it was approved. Then days after that unapproved. No reason was given except to contact support. I'm curious if this is a newbie hazing thing by TER? Maybe TER politics in order to force VIP purchase? Has anyone else on TER have a review approved then unapproved?

2cupsplease: Nothing so far. I have read on other boards that TER support almost never reply if you are a basic member. We shall see.

And now everytime i post ANYTHING i get a PM saying this:

Spend the money... it keeps out all the transients and makes it a community better than the free sites... without VIP and moderation TER would not be the quality site that it is....

Just letting you know, I spent $90 for a quarterly VIP membership a little more than 4 years ago. Since then, my VIP membership did lapse once, but I was able to reestablish with two new reviews. All told, in 4 years I have spent $90 for VIP, and have been able to acquire days since then. Get the VIP membership- it is the best thing you can do.

gotta go vip or you don't get the info you really need and the providers need

it's a win win for the hobbiest and the provider that vip's can be checked out as well

I had a legitimate review approved, then removed a few months back. It is unfortunate, since the provider has since received some average reviews...that are immediately followed by a perfect review. As a result I don't bother writing reviews anymore.
