I made the same mistake. Used my room mates laptop while mine was being repaired. About a week Later she changed her password and gave me an account with parental controls enabled. Whoops. I just hope she hasn't found my site. I have no desire for her to see me topless.

You know the rest of this story!  I think I'm in good shape though.  You guys have any of these type close calls?

Been there, done that. Had almost a year 'probation' a couple of times! My son introduced me to Google Chrome browser. In the wrench icon in the upper right is a button for incognito browsing. Everything disappears when you close out the incognito window. I've been clean (unbusted) for several years with that system.

Can you give us more info on the Google Chrome browser?

It also erases cookies every time you close Firefox.  I Never use IE anymore ever.

Ditto here.  You have to make sure you set that option though.  With IE you have to remember to clear everything but you could mess up and forget, which the OP did.  I use Mozilla Firefox for all of my internet illicit activities.

IE8, FireFox, and Google Chrome all have a 'private' browsing function now. Use that if there are any issues.

In Internet Explorer 8:

Tools
InPrivate Browsing

a new window opens up...do your surfing there and any links you click also stay "in private".

Also, in Internet Explorer make sure you do the following to automatically delete your browsing history:

Tools
Internet Options
Go to the General tab (usually you land there first anyway)
Go to Browsing History section
Check the box that says " delete history on exit"

Have fun surfing!

Nope, I use CCleaner ( its free ) , starts when I close browser!

Like some others suggested.  Download Google Chrome, then in the upper left hand corner is an icon with a wrench. Select "New incognito window" and browse to your hearts content without ever having to worry about history.  It does protect you from the network guys at work though, so don't use it at work. It also does not protect you from someone standing behind you.
