There comes a point in every man's life when he realizes that he needs to make a mark on the world, and that he has precious little time to do so.

All, I think that time for me is now. At least, that's the thought that came to me in the shower this morning. But I do my best thinking in the shower, so here goes!

My mark on this world and this community specifically is this: a new slang term!

I propose that we refer to that non-Front Page site (aka "BP") as simply "the gas station."

Sure it's 11 letters longer than the current 2-letter acronym, but it has so much more to offer. For example, very utterance automatically conveys contempt.

And it even communicates the appropriate tone to those not yet acquainted with the term. Observe:

"Dude! I saw an outta this world little hottie on the gas station last night! I gotta get me some of that!"

"Um, WTF are you doing trying to pick up chicks at a gas station?"

"No, at *the* gas station!"

"Gas stations are ghetto, man. That's disgusting."

I have seen the light and had a mind-(and-more)-blowing TER experience. I will be firmly planting my feet here (for better or for worse!).

This post was inspired by that: making a joke about that other site (and my former self!).

It was done purely for entertainment purposes. Just tickled my sense of humor the right way. I hope you get a laugh from it (laugh at me as well if you want!) but don't look for any deeper meaning.

I hope it reflects on my humorous personality and desire to share that here, but if it reflects something else instead...that's not my intention, but that's the risk I take by posting, and so be it.
