Let me tell you, you should go to the Rainbow Palace. It's not far from the beach on Oakland Blvd. Outstanding Chinese restaurant. Tuxedoed waiters. Expensive but worth it. Rated best by Zagat. I recommend starting with the duck noodle soup. They have New York steak, but their other entrees are worth exploring. Their website has the dinner menu, of course. http://www.rainbowpalace.com/

I always love taking my dates to Morton's steak house when I lived in Ft. Lauderdale.
I always had great serivces - bar non and the steaks were to dies for. 10!

Dessert.... thats another story..

better steak houses that aren't chains.  ny prime and chop's lobster bar are both better than any in ft lauderdale in my opinion.  

by the way johnny v's isn't a steak house but the food is excellent.

If you have not found that upscale place. Casa Blanca is one of the MUST. I have been there with friends and family and is really good food and upscale, capital grille on sunrise blvd. next to blue martini and galleria mall. or texas de brazil just across from Capital Grille. I hope this is helpful!

My all time favorite place in Ft Lauderdale is a all inclusive restaraunt called Chima's Brazilian Steakhouse!
