The Beta site is up and running.  TER is still working some of the kinks out.  If you go to the homepage and click on the Beta site, you can access it.  Please play with it and leave your feedback here and Admin will see it.  The more changes they can do up front, the better.

Out of town ladies are free to post on all theme pic days.  Just don't make it an ad.   My goal is to unmoderate as many of the ladies as I can, so their posts go up immediately.  That means learning and playing by the rules.

What can I say?  I missed Devyn's hot pictures every day.

Sorry about the confusion here.  The important thing is that the folks on the board spoke and let it be known (some more tactfully than others) that it was important and it stayed.

as an out of towner, the first board I visit when I log onto TER is the FLORIDA board.  Why, because it is by far the best board and I look forward to the pics on theme day.  That is where I find most of my future dates.

This is what sets the Florida board apart from the others....keep those pics coming ladies...

The beta site is an amazing step backwards. Granted...there are some new features that are a plus..but the discussion board style is the worst possible. It's basically the same cookie cutter version that everybody else uses...and that's why their sites suck.

What we have now is sort of a "tree" model where you can see the progression of posts, who responded to whom, and you can pick and choose what you would like to read or see.
The "new" version has none of this.
It's linear and to see any post..you have to see all the posts. Every...single...time....you click on the subject. There's no way to just reply...you have to "quote" the person which adds a box of text each time you do it.
There's also NO way to bypass posts or pictures you'd rather not see.

Take this thread for example. Look at it in the normal way we have now...and you can clearly see that my response is to SoFla's original subject line. There was a second line (started by him) that developed into a side thread. In our current format...makes perfect sense. Now switch to the beta. It's just one comment after another with no easy way to figure out what's going on.

Only our government could take something that works extremely well...absolutely screw it up beyond recognition...and call it "new and improved"...better.

The only good thing about it is that once it kicks in...I'll hardly spend any time here at all.
This, in and of itself, will make a few people very very happy.

When I left FL 2 years ago the board here was rompin and I was quite active - here in Dallas they have this style like the beta TER - I found it very cryptic and not conducive at all to fun, rapid posting - I have tried to get excited about the new board here which is much like the one that went down - but I post more on FL TER than here on eccie. The ladies do nothing but post ads, a few post on the general discussion but again it is difficult to get a feel for the thread at first glance so I don't bother.

Yes - TER will lose a lot of action if they stick with this new format. But such is life, most good things pass - some evolve and keep pace - obviously not the case here.

and yes, probably a good thing I phase out of this type of activity - as I can now afford the full time gal... just need to find her... lol

As a retired government worker (42 years with DoD) I don't think it's fair to say 'Only our government would....screw it up...'  I think on reflection you'll find that lots of private sector orgs (BP, Toyota and several Wall Street firms leap to mind immediately) are fully capable of screwing things up monumentally.
But I agree on the Beta site, especially on the discussion boards, I noticed those problems immediately.  On Tushy Thursdays I want to get to the next sexy pic without sorting through all of the comments to get there; I can easily do that now, would be a lot more work on the new format.

Interesting reminder, Vamikey thanks for sharing that perspective.

TER should immediately stop any effort to launch the Beta site.  The reason most of us use TER is that it is DIFFERENT from the other sites, and it fits who we are.

If TER decides to get rid of the current format for the BETA version, they are making a conscious decision to get rid of many of it's users...the customers have spoken, now will TER listen?
