I have a question: A client recently reserved 2 overnight visits with me and canceled each one in succession -last possible minute. He is well-known in local business so his screening was verified, however, he does not participate in any hobbyist sites. Each canceled date has cost me, substantially. Apparently, he thinks it's fun to have someone take time from their regular job, make arrangements, turn down other prospective clients, reserve a $129 hotel, spend on gas, make a 3 hour drive, purchase things for the date, then cancel last-minute. Not to mention time -twice in a row, always canceling with "business emergencies."

.... you know what sweetheart?     That should be a big red flag to any provider.    I am sorry you did not catch it.

Very sorry that this happened to you. As another reviewer noted, this is where the White List of TER has a lot of value. I personally like it when a provider thinks enough of me as a client to give me that referral. If more providers did that, it would give other providers a greater piece of mine before making the type of financial....and emotional....investment that you made. Emergencies can happen, but not twice in a row. Still, having recently had a non-show experience, I know it's disheartening. And all I lost was time.

u did what u could by putting him on VH. but seems more n more gents r pulling these stunts n no way to punish them . And one bad apple ruins the rest..

First, agreeing to an overnight with an unknown client without requiring a substantial deposit. He gave you no references, so you really had no way to know if he was a stand-up guy or a jerk. Most ladies, including myself, require a deposit for anything over 2 hours... just to weed out the dreamers, game-players and worse.

rules for guys is only book an overnight encounter with a provider you have had at least a dinner date with.  Why would you want to spend an entire evening with someone you were not at all compatible with?

If you're not on the Providers Only board, ask for admission, you have enough reviews to be eligible.  Post the story there, and tell the girls in your area to PM you for his name.  That's what I did when I had a provider NCNS me.  I got quite a few requests for her name.

Yes, I understand that. I'm not actually looking for anyone to do anything for the situation, save advise on where to and how I can alert other ladies. I'm extremely low-volume; I have been a companion for some time now, however I still have much to learn. I honestly don't know all that there is to know about reviews, hobby-related sites and the like. I suppose that is because I don't do this very often. But when I do, it's almost always been a really fun experience.  
Red Flag: You're correct. I agree. But I will say that the majority of men I meet read reviews religiously but never leave them. When I screen, reviews or site activity are the first questions (screening profile on my site.) It's ironic how many men read yet never leave any. They are members of TER but don't participate. About one in every 35-40 who write to me actually have left reviews. But they've had accounts here. Why is that?

I agree; that could be done, and is creative. I never thought of that! But I don't feel like I could. Yes, he did cost me money. And time. That's a lot for anyone in this economy. But even though what he did was plain mean, I believe in Karma. And my posting about him like that would have a ripple effect that could cost someone their marriage, business and potentially their entire life. As horrible as he was, I can't hurt anyone like that. But you are brilliant!

I agree. I explained my side and he (finally) sent me the money he'd cost me (a day later.) I will add that there is a handful of men who enjoy making women wait for them - they get off on it. It is rare but it is something that certain guys literally get off on..it's a form of ego trip. Indicator: "didn't you have guys wanna see you this trip? You made some money already, right?" While this was his mindset (of a moron) it showed me he has a propensity which is why other ladies need to be warned.

I have thought of requiring a deposit before. And you're smart! I suppose that I have become too trusting, as I have most gents simply offer donation upon meeting. Most of my visits are 2-5 hours on average so you are right - I've become too acclimated to nice, sweet guys...

I have only spent time w men I have been compatible with..it's funny, I have only met 2 with whom I wasn't. You're right; I've become too acclimated to being lucky in the sense that I've thus far, been w guys and everything has been fantastic so far as compatibility.

Tori first I noticed that you had a reply to every response except mine, is it because this guy found you on BP and in your original post you stated that he didn't send you the money you lost then on another post you said he did. Strange.

Hello, Thanks for your question. He said he found me on Eros. What I meant by "not on any sites," was that he reads online, but does not participate in any of the activities such as reviews, etc.

Thank you, I sincerely appreciate..I have become far too acclimated with being lucky - the few gentlemen I have met, I've clicked very well with, so something like this is rare for me. I have had 2 other incidents regarding men who seem to have a propensity for scheduling dates which don't go through. 3 incidents total over the time I've been a companion is not too terrible, albeit 0 incidents would be ideal. I try not to be judgmental, and I tend to try to see others' points of view, which can leave a provider in a vulnerable position, apparently.

Seems 80% of guys that contact a provider these days Are full of it.. All talk no action. just getting kicks dragging a provider along.. waiting for her to flip out or say something wrong so they can say sorry I am not coming. And if she doesn't they just disappear or make up some stupid excuse last minute.. Makes it hard to know who is a real client and who is a time waster

You are right: I'd never compromise anyone for any reason - 200$ v/s someone's entire life ruined? You are correct; it would be an evil thing to do, and I'd never consider it. As a lady who does this only part-time to make ends meet, a loss like this one that I described can really affect me, but I'd never choose reprisal. It's my feeling that Jessica read my post and felt how upset I was. Some men do not understand that providers invest a lot. But I'd never compromise anyone's safety or confidentiality. There's a certain "unspoken" boundary of confidentiality and discretion...
A typical date can cost a lady a hotel bill, travel expenses, gas, babysitting (especially if you're the mother of a child w special needs or care for a parent), safety protocol, accessories for the visit to insure he enjoys himself, and the list goes on. A luxury in call can set me back well over 200. But you are correct; it's a prudent decision to have certain boundaries that go unspoken (i.e., don't expose anyone's personal information.)  
IT IS MY TAKE: Karma will visit him...somehow, some way. I am not him, he may have a sad life that I know nothing of -because I am not him. He did wrong me, but it's not my place to play judge and ruin his life over this. I do not believe in reprisal. I believe in Karma. If I am a good person, good things will follow.

Click on the 'More' tab, the PO board is in the drop down menu.  You will have to ask admin to get permission to join.  You have enough reviews (at 3 are required) and a posting history to be admitted.  Use the 'contact us' button to ask admin to let you on the board.

Thing is, leaving a negative review on a client's business doesn't have anything to do with the hobby. And it's kind of mean. Just as reviews can affect our business, a review could potentially hurt his business. I do get what you are saying - but reprisal of any sort could potentially open an ugly door. And I wouldn't want it done to me. Yes, he screwed me out of the cost of a hotel (when I would not have been able to see anyone else) and more..don't get me wrong, I'm upset. But I'd prefer just to forget it happened, and forget him.

I wrote to him and explained the night it happened (he had me waiting on the hook all day until 9pm. If he'd have just said no, I could have made other arrangements. Or at least tried..I don't usually do same day visits, but I could have tried.. and he promised to reimburse me..which did happen, albeit a day later.  
I agree - "wannabe" hobbyist. I'm rather forgiving for one cancellation. The 2nd cost too much. Not to mention that he has the propensity to tell me he's coming through my  town and never follows thru. (I noticed text messages after this debacle..never again = I've ignored him since this happened.) I'm going to join the PO Board.

You are contradicting yourself. You said he gave you the money back.
