I was pretty shaken up ... got dressed ...left and had a drink and then came back and finished up!

I have been reading about the FKK scene in Germany and was intrigued to try it out on my next trip to Europe. So Friday, I found myself in Frankfurt and made my way to The Palace late afternoon. It was everything that has been described here - beautiful girls (some very aggressive and hard to say no to) and rock bottom prices.

What I wasn't prepared for was a raid by the police at about 8PM. I was in the middle of a session when the cops stormed into my room telling all to congregate in the front area. To say the least, I was shocked and really worried about getting arrested (this is legal in Germany!?)

Well, my worries were calmed when it was simply a check for undocumented women ... the men were also required to show passports or drivers' licenses before we were allowed to either remain and play or leave. The police (I believe) arrested a few women.

The management handled this as best as they could ... offering free entry the next time we returned.

I guess the moral of the story is never leave your hotel room without your passport! This (on a positive note) also shows how serious Germany is on regulating the industry ...

Other than this totally unexpected incident, I had a fantastic time.

did you get to continue the session that you were in the middle of?

They were talking about this last week on the German forums. It also happened at World and most likely will happen at all the clubs from time to time. Its not unusual and yes the clubs are legal and the police know what is going on.

I experienced my first raid (Razzia as they call it in Germany) at Atlantis years back. All the entrances and exits were locked, the women were forced into the cafe area (where you could dine). The men were all left in the main room. Via the windows you could see what was going on. The police had set up several tables for interviews. During which the women were required to show passports and papers. At the time Germany was not part of this EU thing. They still used the D-mark as currency. The men were free to leave and were never asked for any identification.

You need to understand that Atlantis was not loved by everyone at the time. The major of the town was part of the reason the club was never allowed to re-open. I had heard the major vowed to stop the club from re-opening at the time. The media jumped onto the band wagon as well and video taped some of the men as they left the club during the raid. Imagine your photo being on major news casts around the world?

At the time I thought the raids were a big deal and only done to some clubs. Knowing a bit more now its actually fairly common. The main reason is to check for proper documentation, age, and trafficking. No one is checking health records.

It was during this Atlantis raid that we found out one of the Thai gals was in fact a "MALE". Who had the operation and pretended to be a woman.
This is not all the uncommon but most clubs require the TV to tell customers before they go to the room. Not to long there after this Thai guy showed up at Oase and worked there for a while. I asked the owner once about this and the answer was simple. "Some men like it and as long as it makes money we don't see a problem".

While I doubt you'll run into this problem for the most part just know that they exist at the clubs. This post was about "unusual experiences" wasn't it? Raids are not that unusual if you've been doing this for some time you'll figure this out. Nothing to fear either and even if you did not have your passport with you nothing would happen.

I personally prefer to keep my PP with me, there are those who feel it is best left in the safe at your hotel. You could bring a color photo copy with you. Regardless it is a good idea to bring some form of identification with you.

"Serious on regulating the industry" If this was done on a regular basis I would agree but its not. The only thing the government is serious about is taxes, not regulation. Did you know the government enforced another law that the club most collect taxes per day from each girl? Now that is serious. This is also what broke the camels back with Atlantis, part of the problem was they owed over 1 mil in taxes. For all the raids you see, there are thousands of others involved who never get raided.

The big surprise is they will raid a club at any time, day or night to keep them off guard.

One was pretty obvious, the other not so. The obvious one and I got along fine, she knew I'd never take her, but it didn't mean I couldn't be polite to her, or try to mess up her business.

Yes, some punters didn't know, but I think most did. Finally, the Thai contingent there was pretty strong, many stars in the group, especially the one whose old man left to open Fantasyland. Forget her name, very tall, part Filipina.
