Why a dog is a man’s best friend

This is an oldie, but it just crossed my desk again.  

So, why is a dog man’s best friend? Well, if when you left your house,  you inadvertently locked both your wife (or SO) and your dog in the garage and didn’t return for two hours, which one be excited and happy to see you? 🐶 or 👿
