I pop on periodically and have pretty good luck connecting.

then click on "chat with provider".  A list on providers who are online will pop up.  Some just log on and have the BRB label on, to advertise I assume.  Others, though, are actually on line and you can have a nice 1-on-1 conversation, away from the chat room.  I've chatted with Nina Moretti and a few others here in Dallas via messenger.  Mostly see providers from LA, NY and Atlanta, at least at the times I've checked.

There is no regional/Dallas chat there; only "The TER Lounge," and it's usually somewhat like a very slow Yahoo chat: not so much traffic, you can follow the conversation easily; just a matter of getting into the conversation. I've noticed the same two or three people there, at various times of the day, usually in a group of no more than 15 total participants. Hope this helps!
