END OF MESSAGE

Last time I was in chicago I got so lost trying to find this city/Suberb  I missed my audition. YES I used my GPS still I was completely turned around. Well now it looks like i have to try again. Am I crazy or is this Oaklawn place hard to find.

Thanks
Ky

Go south on I-294, exit 95th St East bound exit.

The problem isn't gettin there it's findin out where I'm goin while I'm there.

95th -ish is kinda the northern boundary, but major commercial district. Most areas should be mapped by the GPS. PM me if you want exact directions.

Do you download online directions from mapquest, yahoo, or whereever?  Oaklawn is as easy as it gets, other than SW highway all the streets run straight EW or NS.  The EW streets are all numbered and the NS streets all have names with the numbers on the signs on the through streets.

Part of finding anything in Chicago is knowing E from W and N and S. Of course there are a few main highways that run on a diagonal and can challenge the best of us if don't know the city or burbs. Depending on where you start out, Oak Lawn is not that hard to negotiate. It's a rather small municipality, but knowing the boundaries helps. If you have to be somewhere, support your limo drivers. They'll come through. Cabs, don't unless you don't mind spending lots of money.

I just had a visitor (non-hobby) to town take a cab from O'Hare that wasn't a suburban cab. Going to Northwest suburbs. The cabbie's GPS had him take wrong turns and everything. The cabbie ended up 10 minutes away from where he was supposed to be. This appears to be a problem in areas where villages intersect and major streets have similar numbering, so it'll send you a few miles away from your intended destination on the same major road. Don't ask me why the GPS's index this wrong (seemingly by street number instead of city/village first).

My suggestion is to make sure to always print out paper directions from two separate maps sites in addition to using your GPS if you've encountered this problem. It can be rare, but damn confusing as hell.

I am glad that you are here positing . I read there was a terrible accident near the I-80
and 57. It is a complicated area because there are three highways that branch off there.
95th is Palos area.

If we are willing to drive you around, in say for a trade of some sort, do we have to wear the whole chauffeur outfit?

..... Just put your destination address in your contacts, click it and Bam! Instant directions. Just follow the blinking blue ball.

If you entered Oaklawn in your GPS, that would confuse it. :-)
