And will therefore soften the resolve of providers to charge what the posters can afford.

Thanks for making it a food post.

"The better part of valor is discretion" - Shakespeare. No good can come from a no-win argument. He will not listen to reason, and it does you no good to lower yourself to his level by calling him a piece of s**t. The original poster has an axe to grind. No use helping him grind his axe. Let the original post die a quick and lonely death.

Now, if he impugns the integrity of a specific lady, then you can have a fight worth having.

is a freqent visitor on all the boards.  Some guys throw it out there "innocently" enough.  Others want to toss out the question with an intent to "light a fire".

Either way it does provoke some good "old fashioned" discussion on an age old subject.  And as a thread continues it is easy to see what an OP's intent was (assuming they respond to posts..like this fella did).

Most folks are lurkers only.  I had asked a while back what folks thought of train wrecks.  And to no surprise, most liked them, at least those that replied to the post.  But it is the hundreds (thousands) of guys/gals that simply lurk was my interest, and just as on the OP's thread only a few actually replied to the OP.

And as is usual, the OP had no real reason to post a thread like that, other than to babble his nonsense and hatred for the gals on TER.  That is generally how I see these posters on "why does she charge so much" threads.  These kids/guys can't afford the freight, are pissed off and frustrated, and need to tell us what we already have learned.

But hang on...there'll be another train coming along anytime now (actually might be a couple of weeks...who knows?)

If you can only afford walmart then get the heck out of Niemans  and find something  you can afford...do not bitch about the prices   just shop where your budget allows  walmart has some good values  too.......if you end up spending more than you should of  you will regret it no matter how great the service was....a good provider will spend her money to insure you are treated  like a king a beautiful suite and all the trimmings .....a walmart girl might book a comfort INN and answer the door in a towel.....having just taken a shower from her last appointment a Niemans lady would never ler you know you were not the first one there  the place would be spotless no wet towels laying around or worse wrappers in thrash or empty bottles of wine the bed would look  like it had never been slept in you pay for all those extras and should recieve them  but sometimes its true just because you pay more some are still cheap and not very thoughtful ou just hope you get what your paying for......read reviews

They're both food and will fill your tummy...but each has a much different price point.

But guys like Theo and kosher felt compelled to trash the Morton's steak because it is just too expensive for their liking.  That really shouldn't be an issue as the prices are posted on their websites.  And if they can't afford it (or don't think that it's worth it), they simply can buy what they want.

Others claim to not pay more than a certain price, yet it appears that is NOT the case either.  So indeed some are willing to pay the higher price, but then have buyers remorse and agree that the steak is just an overpriced piece of meat.

So it really isn't an easy answer for those folks.  They want the expensive "piece of meat", but for whatever their reasons just can't justify paying for it.  Oh well...maybe Morton's will offer a substantial discount for their NY Strip some day.  But until then, these fellas will just complain.

But in the end "opinions are like assholes...we all have one".

that he can't afford providers he really wants to see. Many of us would love to see the very high-end lovelies around here and some of us still kick ourselves for not seeing them back when they were more affordable. Such is life.

Freedom goes both ways. My critique about the previous post was his wording, not the topic. Nieman Marcus(Needless Markup) at least has a return policy and Morton's will get you another meal if there is something wrong. I had an occasion of paying quite a bit($1000/hr)  for a provider that was average at best.

I truly feel we can't talk about "controversial" topics on this board without getting impugned or someone saying "get over it". An actual adult exchange and debate just isn't possible. Personally I find some providers prices ridiculous and yes, I too can choose not to pay it, just as they have the right to charge it or refuse seeing someone. Now, am I an asshole for expressing that?

that is indeed welcomed...at least from what I have seen.

But you aren't outing a segment of the providers in order to "prove your point" as the OP felt compelled to do for some unknown reason.  And when I questioned him (in what I felt was an adult manner) on it, he quickly deteriorated into a childish manner, hence the "ridiculing" of an alias that had left the building.

Your comments on your post are your opinions, and NO...you are not an asshole for expressing them whatsoever.  Anymore than my opinions are the gospel.  And on a discussion board it would indeed be nice if more guys/gals would come out with opinions of tougher topics, but that is not likely given the history of the boards.

I would absolutely love it if the OP showed up again, used his TER handle (last time I checked this was an alias and I didn't really know who the guy is/was) and had an open discussion on why he actually thought what he wrote.  But to just make an offending comment (and that was ONLY my opinion) and not supporting this with some thoughts behind them, makes it sound like I am chatting with either a child or a not particularly educated person capable of expressing themselves clearly.

Yes, we all have one but some are bigger than others. And then there are those who not only possess one they act like one by putting down and attacking someone who simply offered his opinion. Hmmm, maybe they simply ARE one.
I think he was nuts in his opinion but he should be able to offer it without being piled on.

Share something that elucidates the discussion. Repeating what is generally known is not constructive.

It is not a "controversial" topic, it is "banal".

This is an Internet board, and you can post most anything you want, and others can reply in any way they want. Somehow you want the freedom to post whatever you want, but others have to be nice in their replies? I hope you see the irony in that.

Don't get me wrong - I find a lot of what is posted on Internet forums to be stupid, shrill and offensive. But the only "right" I have is to skip reading a lot of what the assholes post, or just stop visiting the forum. When I do choose to post, I don't complain about the replies I get.

The post on overpriced ladies was basically a whine from an idiot who wanted to work the top 10 list for Chicago (which already makes him an idiot), and could not afford them. So he whined and said the problem was not his budget or approach to the hobby, but rather the ladies' error somehow.

So let's see, here is a group of very well-reviewed, established, successful and by any measure high quality providers, who seem to have businesses that work very well for them, and they are doing something wrong? I would like to drive a Ferrari, and the only reason I do not have one is that they are overpriced, too.

No, I am not trying to censor any response.  It's just that divergent views get met with the word idiot and the like.

There are many wealthy people in the Chicagoland area and I have seen perhaps 4 Ferraris in the last 5 years. Now, I would also hope you take into consideration the state of our expressways, insurance, maintenance and driving in the city as factors besides price.

Having a different opinion than someone is a given.  What I have seen so often on THIS board is the inability to delve into topics that have more breadth than the ISO, "Look at me", and "Help" topics that permeate here.

When someone posts a "controversial" topic and others contest that topic, folks like you and a few others get "upset" when a "heated debate" follows.  And you guys just want to apparently get "upset" when the written words seem to be inflammatory (at least how you fellas seem to respond to those).

What people need to realize is that this is not terribly important to anything in the "real world".  I had one fella actually "think that I was meeting good old Theo".  Fantasy and reality here appears to have clashed for some guys.  But to take yourself, myself or anything in between seriously is just a joke.  It's a place to sit around, tease, provoke and mock the world in which we have all come to play.  And the operative word here is to "play".

When people take themselves so seriously, they tend to not see what is really around them.  And for the most part the guys/gals that are here really get it....hopefully those that are "sticks in the mud" figure out that this is just for fun.

Enjoy your weekend...we don't get too many like these at this time of the year.

And I don't need a Maserati...I'll let Zig drive me around in his :)
