How does a new/potential provider check a reference with a previous provider if providers claim they destroy or simply don't keep records of names and such?  This process seems a bit strange, am I to assume that every provider keeps pretty much everything?  I understand the need, just wanted to see what the real story was on this.  Thanks

that is why most don't reply if asked for reference.

the best thing you can do is contact the providers you will be using as a reference, so they can refresh their memory of seeing you.

A lady is not going to remember you if you've seen her 3 months before unless you speak with her and she asks you questions about it.

Well I am basically new but I don't keep the screening information or any personal stuff but in just some friendly emails that I have with a past client I can know if I saw that guy or not if the girl gives me his email.

I agree here.  I don't keep records of any kind.  I make it a point to get back to any lady who contacts me for a reference, even if I don't remember the gentleman.  I will often as her to for more informatin or have her ask the gentleman to call me to refresh my memory.  This seems to work out well.
