Russian Tea Time. It's more of a restaurant than a proper tea house but it's well worth a visit.

Hi!! I’m visiting from the Pacific Northwest and curious if anybody had any great tea shop or coffee shop Recommendations?? I’m also totally new to this site here so hi!

Welcome to Chicago!  3 places that I know are good..

1. Coffee and Tea Exchange
2. Coffee Tree and Tea Leaves
3. Nam Bac Hang in Chinatown

If you're staying in around the Gold Coast/Mag Mile area, definitely try out TeaGschwendner

Definitely a must to for tea leaves, but if she's traveling I'm assuming she's looking for the prepared deal? It's been a while since I've been in their physical store, but last I checked TG doesn't really do this, save for sometimes having one of their teas for sampling or such.

Intelligentsia, Metropolis Coffee, Dark Matter...these are arguably the big 3 in Chicago. You'll find multiple storefront locations, as well as many other cafes and restaurants using their beans. Other fantastic options, especially for creative drinks: Ipsento (and Ipsento 606), Oromo coffee, Sawada. While tea is less of a big deal here, several hotels serve an excellent afternoon tea. I haven't been in a hot minute, but The Lobby (in the Peninsula) and The Langham both do an excellent afternoon tea. The historic Drake also does a decent afternoon tea, but personally I think this spot best shines in the holidays, when they have Christmas Carolers decked out in Dickens era attire.
