I received some texts this morning saying I was wasting provider's time and therefore I deserve a "fine".  No amount was mentioned and no details of where they got my number.  They started threatening all kinds of violence, mentioning my address and my wife's name.  I texted back and forth a few times which I probably shouldn't have.  I plan to ignore from now on.  I debated calling the police or stopping into a station and showing them the texts but I suspect they won't/can't do anything and I worry if it could somehow get back to my family.  I have contacted a few providers over the years that were clearly scammers (asking to pay in advance or deposit etc.)  I have not been scammed fortunately but I suspect this is the same type of people.  Any thoughts or similar experiences?
