I'm so excited to visit your beautiful city for the first time next week and I'm wondering if anyone would be kind to share some good restaurants in the area ? Oak Brook and Magnificent Mile area.
Thank You !!!

David Burke for steak
Mercadito for Mexican
Purple Pig for charcuterie
16 for all around amazing
Three Dots and a Dash for clandestine tiki drinks
Gilt Bar for hearty gastro American (very sexy in there as well)
Sable at the Hotel Palomar for cocktails
Celeste for great drinks and delicious food
Search "new restaurants Chicago"; it'll help too.
that I haven't been downtown forever. I haven't heard of one of those restaurants, we live such a sheltered life in suburgatory ![]()
well, it used to be my job to know all of the latest and newest restaurants in the city; the list would be far more extensive if palomaa up there was interested in branching out to other areas of the city with really great restaurants.
Many awesome places to eat and drink abound in this ciry; I'd highly consider checking out other places not "downtown"
Sepia
Blackbird
iNG
The Aviary (i was REALLY impressed. It's a bar unlike any other)
Publican
Maude's Liquor Bar (actually a restaurant, and its super sexy in there)
Trenchermen
The Dawson
The Gage
Au Cheval
I could go on; different places to go in different areas of the city. Chicago is a great place to eat and drink well. :
I don't know any of those places either, lol. Guess I should come into the city more frequently than once every 10 years.
Paloma could probably use some good places out in the west burbs too ![]()
Double thumbs up for Maude's and Blackbird. (Although the last time I went to Blackbird, Clinton was president.
What's not on the menu is the best!
But you can never go wrong with
Grand luxe cafe
Akor roka
Tarven(rush or at the park)
And of course, girl and the goat
Don't know any restaurants that stands out in oak brook :/ Devon seafood is alright

If you like sushi you MUST go to Japonais- if they have opened. I know I wanted to take a guest there and they were closed for renovations.
If you are a vegetarian you MUST go to the Green Zebra. The only issue with them is the portions are TINY, but u order many things. It's a good date place, very nice atmosphere. And really, even if your not a vegetarian you can't tell some of the dishes don't have meat.
Chicago Style Pizza- Go to Lou Malnatis and get the Lou Deep Dish..mmmmmmm
Those are just the one's I think of right away, because I deeply enjoy all of those foods.
The Frontera Grill/Topolobampo… It is my absolute favorite in ChiTown.
...for 2 reasons.
1. Rick Bayless is a pompous, rude white dude who thinks he is king of Mexican food. I could tell you why I feel this way privately.
2. The meals I've had there (because of the job I used to do) weren't worth what I paid. If you want Mexican in River North, go to Mercadito (which is owned by a trio of Mexican brothers). If you want super authentic Mexican, that requires a trip to Pilsen
I appreciate the candor... It was info I hadn't heard before and does shed new light on things... I will definitely try Mercadito next time I'm in town..

Erin if you do not know about something then do not accuse others of racism ... the chocolate shake at wiener circle is a real thing. The employees lift their shirts and shake their tits, look it up on YouTube. Now I am waiting for your apology

I'm addicted to Indian food, and that place it just exceptional. Try the garlic naan and saag paneer.
Holy shit, I thought I was gonna die. My Indian friends were having a great time steering me to the spiciest hottest foods and watching me gag. LOL... You must have a cast iron stomach BCG ![]()
